No one forces you to fight in a war, dumbass.
You can easily refuse. Even easier once you get to the point where they actually hand you a gun to use. (Or, if from the US, just pick one from your nearest CVS)
I mean, conscription is basically forcing people to go to war through the threat of violence. There are plenty of modern examples of people either being forced to go to war or to be imprisoned or killed.
I get the general idea that you still ultimately have a choice to make, but a choice between serving or being imprisoned or worse still implies coercion.
You can resist imprisonment. Even easier once you are handed the gun.
Basically, "get on board" with the program, let them train you until the point they give you a weapon and tell you to "go after the enemy", then do exactly as they say. We all know who the enemy is, after all.
Right, but my point is that you are still being forced. The legal definition of force isn't someone successfully gets you to do the thing they wanted to, it's being coerced via the threat of violence or imprisonment.
Even if you decide to frag your commander, your life is still being endangered. Also, what you are advocating is a lot easier to say than do. Lower enlisted conscripts during unpopular wars develop a pretty strong bond because there is a lack of choice. No one wants to be there and no one really wants to die, or see their buddies get meaninglessly killed.
Militaries who regularly employ conscripted forces know how to control and manipulate there conscripts into doing their jobs, even when they really don't want to. If you want some pretty horrific accounts of this you can read about Russian conscription during the days of the Romanov empire.
Oddly enough, this has been true for the majority of the wars in the twentieth century.
The reason allowing oligarchs to encourage this split between younger people and older people is dumb is because it's just incorrect.
Look at voting stats. Thinking it's all older people causing all of this shit ignores the GROWING younger population that is turning to fascism. It's ignoring all the older people who are not fascists.
So many people seem to think "the problem will die out in time". Congrats, you've fallen for the propaganda. While you're busy giving up on change because the problem will fix itself, they're busy indoctrinating the next generation and strengthening their position.
So all this fucking ageist bullshit only serves to make fascism stronger.
There is only one thing we need to do: Throw out fascists by any means necessary. I don't care about age, gender, race, wealth level. All I care about: Are you against fascism? Then let's go and throw them out.
I've been closely following politics since the 80s, with Ronnie Ray-Gun, and Dems were constantly spouting the line that the Republican party was going to die off and leave them to inherit the government.
But years went by, and thanks to Rush Limbaugh, and later podcasts, the Conservative Propaganda Machine became an extremely effective recruiter and indoctrinator of young people to replace the dying old ones.
Yet, Dems continued to lean on that tired old myth that they will ascend to power after the funeral for the Republican Party, even as the Republican party grew stronger and more powerful with each election.
Another example of how pathetic the Democratic party is.
Seeing all of these racist chat groups keep popping up is proof that fascism and racism aren’t going anywhere.
Yep. And they're encouraging incels because that leads people into fascism/naziism as well. So it's only going to get worse.
Being Left requires thought. You have to weigh all the potential solutions and listen to a lot of differing ideas. You have to be respectful and consider things that might not make a lot of sense to you.
Being Fascist means putting on boots and kicking ass.
