Anybody can already say how a M3 Pro would compare to a m2 Max? My budget can pretty much afford an m2 max or one of the new m3 pros with 38gb
If you're already spending that much, might as well buy the binned m3 max. It should be a pretty significant performance jump for both CPU and GPU from the m3 pro.
Love all these comparisons but wonder how it matches up in a graph with comparing it moneywise too considering with high ram. It would be insane getting a high end with low RAM
In laymen’s terms (not good with all this tech jargon), what is the different between M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max…is the price increase worth it for what you get in return??
Depends on if you need the speed. I’d say the base m3 pro when it’s available for discount is the best for price and what you get. Older m2 pros on discount probably even better value
It's just marketing for performance, or how fast/powerful each one is. M3 Max > M3 Pro > M3. The price increase is only worth it if you're doing something that requires more processing power. If you're just using a MacBook for basic things like browsing the web, reading the news, watching YouTube and Netflix, etc., the M3 is more than fine.
Though I would recommend splurging for the 16GB of Unified Memory. It'll let you do more things at once, and helps you future-proof a bit.
M3 Max is cool but they gimped M3 Pro
Yeah it's kinda sad. With that said the M1 and M2 Pros were absolutely great buys--equal CPU performance with the Max (as long as you didn't buy the base Pro) for a significant discount. I think Apple figured that out and they probably saw they weren't selling enough Max chips due to the lack of differentiation so here we are.
If that’s better than expected, I wonder how the GPU benches and if the dynamic caching will improve scores for graphic benchmarks. Still think I’m waiting for an M4 Max chip though.
So hyped, I've ordered one of these and it beats my gaming PC (3950x) on single and multicore score.
