The plan when I thawed the venison cube steak was chili. But I had Mexican slaw and jalapeno cream sauce to use up. So burritos got the win. Taco seasoning, bacon grease, orange juice, venison, Mexican rice, vinegar slaw, jalapeno cream sauce, avocado.

Cost per person: $4.29

There's a deer processor, 4 miles away. Occasionally someone won't pick up their deer. When that happens and then they need to clean out the freezers to make room for their own cattle operation. They'll sell venison cube steak and other things for $4 a pound. So I got 4 lb of venison cube steak and a venison roast for less than the cost of ground beef.

It was delicious. It had so many layers of flavor.
