Ahh, Descent. I remember wasting a whole summer playing that with my neighbor. Probably 1996. Excellent game.

I distinctly remember getting this game as a kid.
I was with my Grandmother, and she took me to Cash Converters (a second hand shop) on the other side of town, and she allowed me to get 1 game. I remember seeing the cover of Descent and just being like 'whaaaaat' haha. I also ended up spending a lot of time playing this gem
Cash Converters (a second hand shop)
I know what Cashies is! I'm a professional Dank Pods viewer :D https://youtu.be/ofCLy2Svqpw
I remember playing it on a PC with a purple Logitech joystick. It was great!
We played with a PC as well, though we didn't have a joystick :) My neighbors mother was a researcher in the university so she had a powerful PC, we could run all kinds of games on that.
Haha, I just got a flashback.. We did a full play through of Escape From Monkey Island, even though we didn't know English at the time. We just wrote down on paper which replies worked when doing the insult sword fighting. Then the rest was just figuring out the puzzles. I think it took like 18 months to get through it haha
I think it took like 18 months to get through it
Damn, now that's some effort π
Well, when half of the year is dark and -25C, theres plenty of time to play games :D Or start a black metal band
Haha Norwegian?
I had a black metal phase during school years and years ago haha
A bit to the east, Finland :)
Ah awesome! That would have been my next guess with the Black Metal clue haha
Hehe. My black metal phase wasn't too long either though. I think I listened to it for like 6 months and me and my friends played black metal stuff for a few weeks before going back to prog rock/metal :D
I did like a sort of full circle with the music stuff when I was aged 13-14. Started with classic rock stuff, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Cream etc. Then came the punk phase, Dead Kennedys, Misfits, The Dead Milkmen and so on. Then black metal phase, the proge, then back to classic rock. All this in a period of 1-1.5 years lol
Love it, a fellow Aussie collector ππ©·β€οΈπ
I could tell even before zooming in on the Cashies sticker - we were literally the only PAL market as far as I can tell they switched to the slim CD-style cases mid-generation! π
Nice spot on the Cashies sticker haha. I was going to clean the sticker off the case but I decided to leave it there as it reminds me of that day π
Nice work grabbing the THPS and the Oddworld set. Youβve got some good taste there! I burned many an hour working through Crash Bandicoot as well
I'm actually super disappointed I couldn't find the other THPS and Crash titles! I knew I had them growing up, but they must have just got lost over the years I guess.
So when I found all these games again, I was actually looking to see if I still had my copies of FF8 and any of the Oddworld games. I was super surprised when I came across the rest haha
World Scariest Police Chases might have been the last game I ever got for my PS1. Loved just cruising around the open world.
It potentially may have been my last one as well. I got it a bit after the PS2 launched (I never owned one, and kept playing my PS1 instead during high school).
I don't have much other memory of that game other than just cruising around haha
Disneyβs action game featuring Hercules is such a mouthful of a title
Ah that was a excellent game. I loved playing it. Also loved the movie.
Yeah movie is great. I remember the game being too hard for me but a good time.
Yeah it was hard. I think I managed to finish it once and then forgot about it. But that was after months and months of trying to beat the game :)
The movie was my favorite back in the day. I think I watched it at least once a week for a long period of time. And now I want to re-watch it lol
