Honestly, the fastest way to create an atheist is for them to read the bible.

Notably, they're handpicking certain passages to use as propaganda. I still remember that this was an effective strategy in my youth as it censors the most incongruent pieces of text. Usually, Bible study groups and similar places discourage reading the Bible on your own. So that a priest or other brain washing agent is always present to guide your interpretation. The moment I read the Bible on my own, without an adult to twist the words towards a religion positive optic, I quickly became an atheist.

They’ll eventually realize the dark ages had it right, revert to mass illiteracy, and hoard their knowledge in a dead language only the priestly class understands. Everybody else just gets illustrations and an explanation of meaning, or burned at the stake.

Have you heard of this thing people are calling "AI"?

No internet usage for kids, and mandatory bible study. They want to control all information going into a kids head, and they want that information to be slave-coded.

Vote for fascist assholes, get fascist asshole propaganda in your classroom.

Are students allowed to read those stories from the Skeptics Annotated Bible? I like some of the points it makes in Jonah, like how God repented for his intended evil.

I personally think it is a great idea. As long as they teach about all worldly religions. Call it world religions. This way a student can learn about a lot of different religions and how it affects cultural differences.

How about we only teach religions in a historical context, finally also teaching all the negative sides from all religions?

Religions are NOT a force for good in this world, never have been

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

That's not what this is. Schools can still teach about religions today everywhere. You just can't preach and have the kids "participate" in religion.
