In my own experience in Britain during the Leave Referendum, lots of Indians are conservatives and even Indian-Nationalists and they absolutelly are anti-Immigrant in the country were they themselves are immigrants as long as they think it's other immigrants that will suffer rather than they themselves.

In fact, this is a general rule, not just for Indians: immigrant rightwingers are no less calously selfish or relishi the hurt of others they see as lesser than local rightwingers, though granted people do usually bring along cultural faces from their country, such as for example a normalized perspective on discrimination against people from other casts for those from India.

Never assume that just because somebody is an immigrant they're inherently better (or worse) than the locals - the main difference between them is how much power they have in the country they live in and expectations informed by the culture they grew up in, not in Moral, Ethics or Principles.

Dumbasses. You will NEVER be one of "the good ones" to these people. You are nothing but a useful idiot and will be treated as the enemy THE MOMENT you are no longer useful.

They're not trying to be pick-me brown folks. They're just also fascists, and have been kind of blind to the fact that their ideas of fascism and class power are different from the average MAGA WASP's.

They don't care, if they can make a few million it was all worth it they have family in India if they get deported later.

I mean, they were set up to be folded in...

JD and Usha were put together by the literal "tiger mom" as the right's very delayed response to Bill and Hillary as a "two-for-one" future presidential candidate. She paired them up, got Usha her SC clerkship, taught Vance how to "write" his book, and got him linked up

trump came out of nowhere tho and doubled down on the white supremacy, which is why Vance is gonna switch to Erika.

People always say Thiel made Vance, but the only reason he showed up on Thiels radar in the first place was Amy Chua.

https://www.businessinsider.com/meet-the-woman-who-elevated-jd-vance-from-obscurity-superstardom-2024-7?op=1

She's the real leopard here, and she served up a lot of other people's faces alongside her own.

Edited to add:

Like, if you only know her from "Tiger Mom" books, it sounds crazy. But she's always been a piece of shit. And why there's no proof or likely every will be (she is actually very intelligent) I've always saw her pushing for Republicans to include Indians, was because that would give her demographic a chance to swoop in between. She had always wanted Chinese in the Republican fold, but didn't want to try a conventional path that would place them lowest on the totem pole.

So they bring in "South Asians" and as soon as white supremacists are able to tolerate them, "Asians" show up with the same propaganda laid negative connotations against "South" and with a lighter skin tone. And unit with the white supremacists punching down on others.

I'd never in a million years give trump or even Vance enough credit to come up with that plan.

But the literal Tiger Mom?

Putting into place a plan a couple years before he kids graduated ivy law school that would make them racially palpable to the Republican party?

That shits probably true

I remember seeing a video of an Indian couple berating a black woman because she was black. I read into that that they think they're adjacent to white (I hate using those terms).

Anyway from the article

“Christian voices should be the main voice of America. And I want to know basically why you seem to be, and I don't mean to be horribly offensive, but why you seem to be masquerading as a Christian?” one woman in the crowd asked. The young man who followed her was even more direct. “If you are an Indian, a Hindu, coming from a different culture, different religion, than those who founded this country—those who grew this country, built this country, made this country the beautiful thing that it is today—what are you conserving? You are bringing change,” he said. The man went on to ask Ramaswamy how he could represent Ohioans, when 64 percent of them are Christian.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caste_system_in_India

You will have a tough time finding a more racist society and it's roots are deep, and based mainly on skin color.

[–] terry_jerry@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, they have(had?) a caste system that was pretty heavily based on skin color in India. Or atleast that's what I recolect

[–] faintwhenfree@lemmus.org 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's not based on skin color, but it often is that low caste are darker. That being you totally have dark skinned high caste and light skinned low caste people.

Racism is definitely there culturally in India, but it's complicated on who they considered superior and who is inferior, like Middle Easterners are fairer but Indians would think they are inferior, while same white boiis of Europe are equal or superior. It's very weird. I think we as humans just don't want to get along with each other just take a shit on someone all the time.

We crave hierarchical control systems. We're willing to trade its top down malice for stability.

Indians and Latinos: vote for Trump a second time! Yey!
Trump: rights? Got any rights left!? I'm here for those rights! Hey! I see you got a fancy working visa right there with your cousin, sister, husband! You mind if I just take away half or all your family's income? No? Shwing! Oh, and looks like your friends and family need to be deported? Yeah! Okay, here we go! Oh wait, how about first we put them in concentration camps! I hear the other guy did pretty good with gold teeth removal.

Yeah, I think we're pretty much done here. No more distractions. We need a sunset helicopter ride.

Many Right-Wingers Can't Stand Them

From what I can tell, most right-wingers can't stand anybody from other right-wing groups. The different religions can't stand each other. The social conservatives can't stand the libertarians.

If they didn't all mindlessly vote against their own self-interests, American right-wingers wouldn't have anything in common.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 6 points 1 day ago

Also they're usually racist AF.

Yeah that's the thing they have nothing except this united vote for trump

[–] favoredponcho@lemmy.zip 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I think they don’t understand that maga views them as illegal immigrants just the same as they view any other immigrants. They can never overcome that because maga only looks at race. But, a lot of Indians came to the US legally and are highly educated and wealthier than the average American, so they feel some sort of elite status.

[–] Echolynx@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago

Yeah the gutting of the H1-B visa perfectly demonstrates that.
