Flus is dogshit

[–] wontonsoy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’d say if we lose tomorrow he’ll be let go in Friday, but we all know it won’t happen. I would give the keys to Getsy, frankly, but that’s not exactly an upgrade. With no defensive coordinator it’s hard to see how they change coaches midseason.

Flush should have first been fired for not firing getsy. The fact that it's gotten this far is just ridiculous.

If your whole thing is image and appearances then public flubs are bad like what Flus and Getsy constantly do. If you are a Gannon who doesn't have people's presence but is sincere that is fine because your players feed off of it.

You should have been fired right after flus for typing than instead of that.

Tressman>Flus

[–] needmorecoffee99@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This photo is a disgrace to Trestman, who had a much better record than our current coach. Trestman went 13 and 19, and Flus has only 5 wins...5 wins!!!!!

Flus has no right to be even near Trestman in this photo.

I disagree. He should’ve been fired after it became apparent that this season was going to once again be extremely disappointing

I haven't listened to yet. I'm guessing more positive bullshit like our pass rush is soild snd we are working on the fundamentals blah blah blah

Hiding Incompetence Through Slogans

[–] DownBalloon22@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Haven’t seen it and now I’m scared to look… was it really that bad?

[–] TheTDog@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

If you still haven’t watched it, his initial statement was Fields is not medically cleared, we’re giving it one more day, and he’s doubtful.

The media kept pushing back and asking why he’s not declared out then. They asked like 4 follow up questions were so pointless so Flus mixed up his words.

I want him fired so bad, but the press conference was fine. It was the media being stupid

[–] DownBalloon22@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Ahh so typical stuff from both sides of the podium

Press conferences are a waste of effort and should mean 0 to us

[–] pleasedontbingme@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I actually think there is a correlation here. The team seems poorly coached and taught in all phases. Listening to him and Getsy talks circles leads me to believe that may be how they teach our players the plays.

If they do not know how to properly communicate, it would make learning plays and reads really difficult.

“You see, on this play, if they are in cover 3, you could throw here, but could also go here. Really depends on the situation and flow of the game. Just make the choice that feels right. But it also may not be open, so in that case the best play may also be to just check down.”

Answering a press question while not giving anything away vs teaching. Not the same.

This is just a way to try to make press conferences important.

The history of coaches who suck at press conferences but where great coaches is long.

[–] pleasedontbingme@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

There is a difference between sucking at press conferences and sucking at communicating ideas.

Yes there are plenty of bad press conference guys that are great coaches, but these guys are also clearly bad coaches where the players seem poorly taught. This is why there may be a correlation with effective communication.

[–] Hefty-Newspaper-9889@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

There may be a correlation but I just don’t care. Nor should anyone.

Press conferences are to generate clicks mid week but tell you nothing. Trying to extrapolate from press conferences is only due to not having anything real to talk about

[–] Significant_Cycle_76@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I agree but flus should still be fired for his piss poor job performance

[–] nafimafi@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

never in my life would i ever think "man, trestman would be an upgrade" but here we are

[–] rubanthmendez997@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’ve always been a Trestman defender. I’m not calling him perfect, but he didn’t stand a chance to begin with. The defense didn’t have his respect because the new GM fired Lovie, Brian Urlacher left, and the Tampa 2 defense was becoming outdated. He was an easy push-over, but he tried his best to gain the team’s respect. Trestman may not be HC material, but he’s pretty good at being an OC. Before the Bears, every QB he’s worked with improved with him calling the plays and designing the schemes. The Bears even had the best offense in the franchise’s history in 2013 with him at the helm of the offense. The problem is that the defense couldn’t force a 3-and-out to save their life. Trestman was put in an awful situation from the beginning.

[–] emperos@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Memes like this are how I know y'all don't remember just how bad the Trestman era was. We have a ways to go before Flus hits that level.

[–] Nervous-Awareness482@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The saving grace with Flus is he hasn't lost the locker room the way Trestman did. That last season of his was a shit show
