The release of the Ryzen 3 5100 and Ryzen 5 7500F is great and all, but is there any news on low-end AM5 CPUs? Specifically something like a Ryzen 3 7100. While AM4 is a great platform and AM5 might not be the most cost effective choice right now, I’d like to buy something that can be upgraded in the future, if needed.

Due to the disparity in AM4 vs AM5 board and RAM cost, I doubt there is much market for a low-end AM5 CPU right now. I would expect stocks of AM4 supplies to start dwindling before low-end AM5 CPUs are produced.

Yeah, AM4 is where the budgets at right now.

and AM4 will still be ridable for years gaming wise with a 5600x/56003d/58003d, a solid video card, and 32gb of ram.

We likely need monolithic mobile Zen 4 (Phoenix) to be in enough stock first for AMD to start packaging them for desktop use.

Consider buying second hand if you need to reduce costs more.

I wonder what the proper price range is for a low-end CPU these days, taking into account inflation and supply chain shortages. The Ryzen 7600 is $230 right now which is a little under $180 in 2015 money, which doesn't seem too bad for a low-end CPU.
