I recently got my phone repaired as it was having screen issues, under the 1 year limited warranty(ending in 2 weeks). Today I noticed, it asking me if I want applecare+? It says I have 9 days left to get it?

How and why was I offered this? Should I take it?

Was your phone by any chance a 13 Pro or 13 Pro max? If yes, was it running ios 17?

Service revenue is one of Apple’s biggest profit centers.

Short answer: Money

Since the device was repaired and you’re still in the first year, Apple has started letting people add AppleCare. Through the repair process and testing they’ve verified that the device is in a “fully functional state” and they are allowing you go get AppleCare.

If you plan on keeping the device for a while it might be worth considering.
