The Panthers look BAD. Nothing i saw from Bryce Young yesterday wowed me. Tyson looked like the better QB since both were missing throws. Not a good sign for a #1 overall pick. Jenkins seemed to have a bad game he was getting tossed around. But it happens i think it was just one of those games. Overall we looked like a really bad team that barely beat and even worse team. Nothing much to hang our hats on besides the fact that the Panthers are probably getting us the first overall pick this year.

[–] LukeBombs@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We went 2-2 with an undrafted D2 QB. That in and of itself is something to hang your hat on.

Montez Sweat really makes a huge difference. We finally have someone getting pressure. The ripple effect thru the rest of our defense was significant.

Early returns look good. Potential W for Poles.

[–] fitzuha@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

To be honest, I didn’t want this win for the draft pick. I wanted it to make Moore and Foreman to get the win against their old team. It wasn’t pretty, but I’m happy.

[–] Dani_vic@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Winning this game keep bears in better position to get the #1 pick

Bryce Young looked brutal. All his passes looked so wobbly.

We false started a kneel-down.

Nobody’s seemed to mention him so I will; Tyler Scott needs more reps.

Dude seems to be able to get separation, has had some real tough catches completed despite concerns over his hands.

Would like to see Getsy getting him more involved with Fields coming back.

[–] Dawnsaber@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I don’t care of it was an ugly game, a win just feels nice

[–] PM_ME_UR_BATMANS@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Out of all of the Bears games I have watched over my almost 27 years of living on this earth, that was certainly one of them

[–] Bread4025@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (4 children)

Sooo what exactly were those tricks we had up our sleeve?

[–] ImEvadingPermaban@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Giving them false confidence by "letting" them convert on 1st & 30.

[–] KWNewyear@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Spending all week convincing Carolina ST that 59 Yards at Soldier Field is a makeable Field Goal.

[–] karma_polizei@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Actually winning, nobody saw that galaxy brain strategy coming from Flus.

[–] Roofeeoh@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

“Officially the tricks are doubtful, but we’ll see where they’re at throughout the week, ok right, they’re day to day but just not there yet, so it’s really about a 51% chance that we have tricks, 49% chance tricks are OUT and a 100% chance that I am a boob despite the fact that I’ve never seen or touched one in real life.” Matt Everflus

[–] Chemical_Astronaut_9@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

A Young team learning to win ugly, is Good.

In that way, it was a big win last night.

[–] Puzzleheaded-Ear9487@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This is exactly how I feel. Last year we lose that game.

[–] Soldier-Fields@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Glad we won.

[–] Roofeeoh@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Matt Eberful and Luke Getsy BARELY beat the worst team in the league that had half of their defensive starters out. This game should have been over at halftime. We should have absolutely demolished this team. They won DESPITE coaching. I’m happy we got the W as always. But those two need to go like yesterday. BOOTY UP, BEAR DOWN AND FTP

[–] Zsean69@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Im ready to see Justin with finally a decent Oline and improving defense.

This is his time to make things work for him

[–] SpaceCampDropOut@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The way the O Line has been playing lately, I think Justin will be ok when he’s back.

[–] Best-Presence-4165@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Why is it that whenever the Bears beat a team, that team's fans immediately want their head coach fired? I looked at the Commanders, Raiders, and Panthers subreddits after our wins. All three teams were demanding their coaches be fired mid season. And for the Raiders, that actually happened!

[–] celerystalker712@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Because losing to bad teams sucks. The bears are a bad team currently.

[–] hung__sheldon@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Bad franchise. Rotten to its core

[–] Djwhat6@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Did you see who we played? We barely beat the Panthers. Eberflus still needs to go

[–] Da_Bears1@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That was ugly. We won. Winning ugly can be a thing....

Things I liked: We won. Santos hitting a 54 yarder. Kmet, Mooney. Prime Vision.

Things I didn’t like: Jenkins getting owned. Our blitzes didn’t work. Brisker getting juked by a QB. Giving up first down on 1st and 30. Refs giving Moore 3 phantom penalties.

Things I really didn’t like: Vegas covering a .5 point on a night the refs gave out 12 penalties. The QB play. I don’t think I’ve seen so many throws into the ground in an NFL game. Each QB must have had 10 uncatchable balls.

[–] vox4penguins@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

that 'offensive pass interference' where Moore was actively moving his arm out of the way of the defender was just...wow, lol

Foreman has been awesome and probably should be signed next year but I doubt that we will. Great player but unfortunately offensive coaches don't want power run games anymore. I would love to see JF1 play in a more power run type offense with play action.

Kirk Herbstreit and Al Michaels have such an awkward dynamic. Both are legendary announcers but I don’t think they work together. Al is cynical and sarcastic. Kirk is classy and optimistic. It’s like they paired Waldorf the old muppet with Kermit. It feels like at any moment Michaels is going to tell Kirk no one cares about his football knowledge. And Kirk is going to tell Al to stop being a snarky A-hole.

😔 10 days until the next game.

[–] sfbgamin@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Here is your fun fact this morning.

Our first four games we allowed 17 sacks on the season. Since then, our last 6 games we allowed 14. Teven's return has been so huge for us. I know Tyson is getting the ball out quicker but Teven is playing so well.

Is it just me or did Bagent look like the better qb out there last night?

[–] Dani_vic@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He did. He looked better and more confident. But Bageant has better weapons and I would say better oline than the panthers. He can also rely on the running game that panthers don’t have. Bryce young isn’t a bust yet but he definitely just doesn’t look like stroud.

[–] skinnypancake@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I still don’t have much confidence in this team going forward. But hey, at least we aren’t the panthers.

[–] i-like-writing-@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

A 2-2 record for Tyson is not bad. He did his job. Showed some fantastic flashes but also had some head scratching moments. Looking forward to see if this team can produce more with fields back. Bear down

[–] sparkles1887@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No let’s get Fields out there, so he can convince everybody he is the man, and when he stinks we can blame everyone else in the building except him because he can’t stand in the pocket from time to time and make a quick decision once in a while

[–] SloppyMcFloppy6969@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Might as well crown us Super Bowl champs now!!!

[–] hammerSmashedNail@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

2085 Super Bowl champions confirmed.

[–] serbeardless@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

If Bagent is any good in the film room, he should have a nice decade long career as a backup in this league.

Shocked listening to 670 this morning. They are crowning the Defense as being a good D instaed of a crop of dude that just survived the worst team in the league. It's wild how far people go off 1 poor win

At least when I watch Bagent I see someone who is learning.

Eg, he stayed in the pocket the 2nd half but was scrambling out the back in the 1st

I keep seeing terrible takes about Bagent being better than fields because he’s 2-2. When are we going to learn that wins aren’t a QB stat. Bagent’s 2 wins came against the Raiders with their 3rd string QB and then the worst team in the NFL.

[–] hammerSmashedNail@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The defense is the reason the bears won last night. I agree Bagent is not ready for a starting qb role. There has been no significant drop off from Fields to Bagent.

Does anyone have the number from the Viagra commercial? I went to bed hard and woke up still hard.

[–] iparty_alot182@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I said it last night and I still feel, Gordon and Sweat were lights out game changers last night!

Run game/foreman looked great and our D held them to 2 field goals which is incredible considering they started with solid field position multiple times. Dexter and pickens flashed as well and brisker had a great game. The Neck almost pulling an urlacher with that snatch at the end too. This could be a really good defense with another good edge.
