Quarterback
Chicago Bears
They came into the season with a strong OL, drafted a very talented young QB and hired a coaching staff that maximizes their talent.
Yall are supremely underestimating Slowiks play calling this year. Stroud has been terrific but a lot of these guys are also wide ass open downfield. They don’t run tons of screens. Both of their tight ends can catch and run. All three of their top WRs can catch and run. All across the field it’s scary trying to contain them all.
Because they didn’t hire an appropriate dude named EBERFLUS.
They got lucky. Had they had 1.1 they’d have drafted Caleb Williams, errr I mean Bryce Young.
Good coaching. Turn around like that aren’t crazy.
Demeco
Texans got themselves a true franchise QB, was honestly hoping Fields would look like this…
Houston has an OFFENSIVE LINE ‼️
I think people are really overlooking they are 5-4, lost to the Panthers 2 weeks ago, and 4/5 of their wins are against teams you wouldn't think are very good.
They are a solid team, but people really be overlooking a lot of things to say they are title contenders.
I haven’t seen a soul call them title contenders
People will come up with other answers like coaching, but it’s simply Stroud. That’s the difference. He’s playing unbelievably right now. People saying coaching have delusions that JF would be as good on that Texans, and it’s bollocks
Coaching
Coach and obviously CJ Stroud who’s playing at an MVP level
Demeco Ryans is a good coach and CJ Stroud looks like a star.
Better coaching. Significantly better qb play. Less moronic gm.
Cj Stroud improves the whole offense and elevates the playmakers
The hired a competent head coach.
Stroud is honestly legit, he's breaking rookie records. On top of building the trenches and adding talent around their rookie QB, they got Anderson on defense. Solid rebuild helped out a lot. Coaching staff also probably plays a huge part
Um. Step 1. Select a god qb with your draft pick.
They got the coach and qb right
Well you see, they have this guy at QB that’s an absolute wizard and wins them games single-handedly with insanely clutch last-minute scoring drives.
Laremy Tunsil, Tytus Howard, Shaq Mason, George Fant and injured Kenyon Green are the O-line this is how you get your young QB to succeed.
This forum is kind of funny. How they rewrite the narrative to suit their agenda. First of all Houston didn't get better so quickly because of one guy, that's just ridiculous. They added Brown, Dell (good draft pick) Robert Woods, Devin Singletary, Dalton Schultz, and that's just the offense. I didn't even LOOK at the defense and offensive line. It's not all one guy. They made some smart moves in other areas too. Don't forget they also completely revamped their coaching staff. Speaking of changing narratives, you are COMPLETELY changing the narrative about the Bears draft strategy to claim they "missed" on Stroud. A QB wasn't even in the equation, how can you miss on something you weren't looking for at all? The idea right or wrong (still TBD) was to get Fields more protection and improve the defense. They didn't miss on Stroud, they weren't LOOKING for a QB. Just stop with the nonsense.
They picked a QB who was immediately very good, for one thing.
Progressively sucking over 3-4 years. Houston’s offensive line has crazy talent. I was raving about this early in the season when I watched Houston play and wondering how Stroud was ending up with these good numbers. (We played them last year) Stroud is never under pressure, he pats the ball and is never sped up. Slowik the OC is calling really good games as well. Based on the opponent yesterday Singletary had 150 out of nowhere. Houston’s pass rush isn’t shabby either, Hughes is a dog. Credit them for making the transition from Lovie quickly and timely with a young quarterback coming in. Stroud is not a can’t miss generational talent, HE’S NOT!!!!! He is good, great especially with time to survey the field. But Houston is built properly in the areas you build a football team in, O line and D line. That’s the bottom line.
They got a QB with actual talent who makes good decisions and is surrounded by players who aren't donkey cheeks bad with dipshit coaching
Surprising how that works out huh?
Nobody thought Patrick mahomes would be as good as he did. Stop trusting all of these scouts and college reports.
Bears fans are so deprived of a good QB they don’t even understand what’s happening when another franchise gets THE GUY.
Well first of all, it all starts with ownership that gives enough of a shit and knows what they're doing in order to hire the right people. What does a glorified ticket checker and a woman who gets wheeled out to the field in a chair know about football in 2023?
Two top 5 picks maybe
