I blame the tush-push ;-)
Chicago Bears
When you say every are you including DA Bears QB? Because they have sucked every year for the last 10-15 years. We get prospects and toss them into unwinnable situations. Look, we phuc'ed Orton with Sexy Rexy. We phuced Sexy Rexy with what was it a new offensive coordinator every damn year just about? We have had wide relievers and catching tight ends only to trade them away. We have never really had an offensive line to protect the QB, so that he can do his job. Ffs, we have sucked for the last 40 years except for 06 when we went to the Super Bowl, and Hester returned the opening kick-off. I am just happy my wife and I moved to the SW so we don't have to suffer through one dismal season after another.
It’s a constant cycle. Defense usually take a year or two to catch up to offensive innovation, or rule changes benefiting offenses. We’re in the catch up period now. In a cpl years it’ll go back to offensive powerhouses, and a few years after that, defenses will catch up.
I watched Bills Broncos last night. What a shit show the Bills put on. Interceptions by Allen, drops by receivers, then the train wreck with the field goal at the end. The Bills used to be one of the most exciting teams in the NFL. They look like the Bears now. It was so bad, I felt bad for my ex-gf who was from the Buffalo area.
Allen, Mahomes, Burrow (playing better recently) Lawrence, Hurts, Watson
Well Lawrence and Watson just flat out aren't that good.
OL play seems be trending down while pass rushers seem to get more & more athletic. I also think the way contracts are structured now means teams skimp on OL outside of maybe a pricy Tackle because they have to pay WR's, DL & QB's
I think the 400th anniversary of the 1623 Malta plague outbreak is really getting to them
I think football in general went away from developing players and instead went towards developing athletes. Guys with a good head for the game never get a chance at QB because it's easy to call QB sweep left and QB sweep right at the HS level with good athletes. These guys go to college and rarely have a coach that makes them better QBs.
Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Eli Manning, etc. would have never been given a shot in todays climate. They would've been asked to move to Tight End.
There are a ton of freak athletes now at DE. Plus I think cornerbacks level of play has risen significantly in recent years.
Facing a lot of pressure and not having open recievers makes a QB's job really difficult. I love that defense seems to be making a comeback.

Probably a bunch of different reasons. Strenth of schedule, personnel turnover, defensive adaptation, offensive stagnation, unpreparedness (slow starting teams), injuries, etc. Doubt there is an overwhelming reason for it.
I believe they are unsatisfied with the direction of our country and it is showing in their performances
