Justin gotta throw the ball away

[–] skidallas418@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

So painful to waiting for this game. Let’s goooo. Fuck the haters. We beating the Lions.

[–] MikeandTheMangosteen@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Lions by 30. Pain.

[–] DJTheBearsFan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

These last 7 games are not only an audition for Fields but for Braxton. If he pulls a Charles Leno I don't think the bears will hesitate to draft a tackle for their future QB

[–] PortillosBeef27@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Pulls a Charles Leno? Charles Leno was never that bad?

[–] Chemical_Astronaut_9@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Braxton is in his 2nd year. It takes a while for a T to develop.

People are too quick to throw a player away, let the kid develop.

Kmet is a recent example of this.

[–] NoSoupForYou17@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The real question should be if we have anything up our sleeves??😂😂

[–] suckmyfatfuckinballs@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'm sick of the universal Lions love

[–] FlyinDtchman@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

You know... All I really wanna see at some point this season is a fake screen.

Just snap to fields, have him pump-fake to the outside... you know like every other f-ing play they run. Then have the outside reciver release, and throw it to him when everyone bites. It's an easy touchdown... You've been priming the defenses for it for 20 straight games.

[–] pleasedontbingme@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

One of the best original thoughts I’ve seen here.

[–] antmoot@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Better yet what about a FAKE fake screen. We're pretty good at those and not every single person watching will know it'd coming

[–] Competitive_Ice_189@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

bears call screens only slightly above average compared to other teams...

[–] hippohopper78@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Three things I’m really curious to see tomorrow:

  1. Sack total. I don’t think our O line is elite in any way, but if we have 4+ I’ll fully believe that unit looks worse because of JF1.

  2. Our run defense actually good or have teams just choose to pass on us? Lions have a top 2 OL, if we hold them to under 100 on the ground I think that part of the defense is for real.

  3. Darnell Mooney’s role in the offense. Tyler Scott has been getting more snaps recently… Mooney needs to step up if he wants an extension.

[–] SexEleven@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Any chance we don’t get rocked?

[–] InvaderWeezle@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Depends on how Fields looks. If he plays well I think this can be a fun game win or lose

[–] Soldier-Fields@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Really wish Justin would’ve been ready to play vs CAR to get some momentum.

Time to ball.

[–] pleasedontbingme@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It would be so much easier if Maye, Williams or both were just these surefire prospects without significant weaknesses.

Whether we run with either of them or Fields next year, fans need to understand the QB position is going to be a work in progress and have growing pains.

[–] Dilligaf_1963@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Anybody betting on Getsy calling the same play three times in a row?

[–] OkBoomer6919@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Screen screen screen punt?

[–] artevandelay55@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fields prediction:

245 passing

80 rushing

2 TDs

Bears win 31-28

[–] patchinthebox@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'm ready to be hurt again

[–] Chemical_Astronaut_9@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If Fields starts to get his short/quick game working we're going to start winning games.

A lot of games.

Our D is acceptable on everything but 3rd and long.

We're 4th worst on 3rd and long. We're now generating a Pass Rush. 3rd and long problems may trend toward acceptable.

It all depends on Fields making that adjustment. Today is a HUGE game for our Franchise.

The Lions are 21st in Sacks, He's going to have some time.

We can win this game. Stay ahead of the sicks, No turnovers. Smart, complimentary Football and we shock them.

[–] secondsawayfromchaos@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’m drunk. Should I expect my bears to maybe fuck the lions?

[–] DJTheBearsFan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Blame the higher ups for letting Getsy come here. He runs an offense that is more fitted for a true pocket passing QB not a Justin Fields. He's going to stubbornly stick to it because that's what he does best and all he knows.

I feel like his bread and butter being screens and inside zone runs instead of something more advanced shows how shitty he is, anyone else gettin what I'm saying or am I just complete nuts?

[–] Tedy_Duchamp@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’ll play devil’s advocate here, maybe a pocket passing style offense is what Poles wants the bears to run and EXACTLY why he brought Getsy here. I’m starting to wonder if this season was to try and see if Fields could fit into that mold. It would explain why he hasn’t been fired yet or really faced any real heat at all

[–] pleasedontbingme@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Jayden Daniels has played his way into being in the same conversation as Maye and Williams while also playing against significantly better competition.

This is only good for us no matter if we go the route of trading down or taking a QB

[–] hammerSmashedNail@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Bagent ran a boring offense but don’t forget the 6 and 7 minute scoring drives. They helped the defense rest and kept opposing offenses from finding rhythm. Fields needs sustain drives otherwise the defense is going to look just like it did the first few weeks.

[–] We5ties@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I hope he learned that he’s doesn’t need the home run shot. If it’s a scramble/run for 5 yards for a first down or 5 wr 5 yard slate. Take it and move the chains

[–] HankChinaski-@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The Lions pass defense has been pretty bad recently so you might see fields hit 300 yards if he just plays like an average level QB.

[–] losvedir@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The run game really was pretty strong with Bagent as well. I'm not sure if it's because Foreman really stepped up, or Bagent's ability to read defenses and his dink dunk throws. Or because we were playing trash run defenses...

I think it will be interesting to see how the run game is today.

[–] OGChrisB@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Me all week: no chance Bears win, we only beat trash tier QBs

Me on game day: how can we possibly lose this game?!

Bear Down!!!

[–] FiddySix@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Headed to the game today! Hotel is full of Bears fans. We should be well represented in Ford Field! Let’s go!

[–] Bagelsnlox@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Lions 24 Bears 13

[–] ChrisMorrison93@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

A very healthy offense. Let's do this! Not expecting a win cause damn is Detroit good, and it's Monty's revenge game. But let's look solid!

[–] e39@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’m so confident in the Bears winning today that I’ll make a wager.

If the Bears lose (which they won’t), I’ll put a “buy 1 get 1 free breakfast sandwich” coupon* inside of their McDonald’s Mobile App.

(Redeemable once a day. Must be registered to redeem. Participation varies by location.)

[–] Perfect_Bird_5399@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I put ten down on the bears the money line, cuz why not. 🐻⬇️

[–] Jorikstead@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

In Detroit for the game and the vibes are so positive and unfamiliar. Everyone is just so happy here.

[–] onemanwolfpack21@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Is Edmunds playing?

[–] TormundGingerBeard@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Lions are good. Really good.

Bears are bad. Sometimes really bad.

I think some are overthinking this. Lions win and a blowout wouldn’t surprise me whatsoever.

[–] mrbucket08@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Only 7 games of bears football left meatballs, let's enjoy it while it's still here.

[–] IntelligentFilth@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

WHY is Fields warming up and catching the throwback ball especially if his thumb is hurt??? Big picture: never liked the guy in Chicago anyway. He is a stud athlete but a dum dum. Bo Nix should be a priority in the draft, Sweat should get resigned, and some D needs to come in on the free agent market this off season. GM Poles is sharp, and I hope he can convince ownership to invest some capital.

[–] suckmyfatfuckinballs@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

How many people on this sub gonna jerk themselves off to death if Montgomery scores a TD?

[–] illuminatedShadows@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Excited for Monty to run for 200yds and 3 tuds

[–] renegade-811@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Gather round kids time for another story.

Today marks the 187th matchup between the Bears and Lions. The Bears lead the all-time series 104-77-5. The previous meeting ended with a Lions victory 41-10. The Bears last victory over the Lions came in 2021. The Bears have won 7 of their last 10 matchups against the Lions.

[–] Soldier-Fields@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’m gonna Bear Down so fucking hard

[–] BiasedBearsFan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'll be interested to see how Darnell Wright does vs Hutchinson. Our rookie RT has been through the gauntlet of edge rushers so far this season.

  • Week 1 - Rashan Gary / Preston Smith
  • Week 2 - Shaq Barrett
  • Week 4 - Randy Gregory
  • Week 5 - Chase Young / Montez Sweat
  • Week 6 - Danielle Hunter
  • Week 7 - Maxx Crosby
  • Week 8 - Khalil Mack / Joey Bosa
  • Week 9 - Cameron Jordon/Granderson
  • Week 11 - Aiden Hutchinson

I’m tired of seeing Justin Fields face at Dunkin Donuts

[–] Immachomanking@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Anyone help a fan out?

Share NFL ticket with my dad, he lives in IL, I live out of state. After a season of no issues, YouTube says I’m out of market now and I can’t watch anything.

Anyone recommendations for finding a good *its rhymes with dreams?

[–] trite19@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Oh daddy I am NOT looking forward to this one

[–] DetectiveNasty55@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
