I am not a fan of religions and do not like none of these religions and have my own grudges with some of its followers but what I am seeing is that there is an increase in enormous hate towards Jews and Muslims especially from right and far right people like oh no! there will be a Sharia state, look at UK, Juice are responsible and like demonization of these two groups. Many Jews, who are atheists, also get hate comments below their videos where they express their Jewish identity or something related to that.

I don't think the far-right ever stopped doing that. But sadly they are getting more mainstream in many places.

[–] dreksob@feddit.online 3 points 1 week ago

Its never been the far-right, its just been the right

[–] Naive@lemmy.world -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And I think even moderate people are becoming hateful to these two groups, especially against Jews since Oct 7.

Israel ≠ Jews

Israel is rightfully getting criticized. They're actively committing genocide and have been attempting to at least since they attempted to forcibly take the West Bank from Palestine.

The same government and Israeli elites are lobbying and sending massive bribes to United States politicians through AIPAC to continue providing military support to Israel. Unsurprisingly, many Americans that don't care to support said genocidal government are displeased with Israelites who have seemingly done nothing to condemn the actions of their leadership.

I remember saying in the early 2000s that "Muslims today have replaced jews as a political target".

While true in a bush post-WTC world, today it's mostly back to "normal" scaremongering by right wing shitheads trying to lure in chuds with xenophobia.

Antisemitism just for the sake of antisemitism is still a thing, but that's mostly limited to outright neonazi/neofascist ideologies.

Note that the above is written independent of calling out Israel for its genocidal and apartheid policies. Fuck Israel and fuck IDF in particular.

I heard that Jewish students are facing antisemitism on campuses and like patients are reluctant to reveal their Jewish identity in certain hospitals of Australia. Is that true?

[–] andrewrgross@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I can't confirm a negative, but I can state as a Jew in California I've seen a lot of similar claims here in the US that were manufactured and false.

[–] impairedimperator@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Absolutely. Islamophobia is a good way to make people more willing to go die in Iran. Israel is actively trying to use Jews as human shields by equating antizionism and antisemitism, and the old school neo-nazis love that.

[–] Naive@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

wait ain't the nazis old school and neo nazis their later offspring? And for Muslim hatred, I think that right is using this to remove Muslim population living in their countries.

[–] Multiplexer@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Coming from the right, that's not new.
What is new from my view, though, is the fact that I have recently been seeing much more dislike for muslims and their customs from people I know to be pretty far to the left.
While bordering not quite "demonization" it is already used in a bit too much of generalization kind of way for my tastes.

[–] lath@piefed.social 5 points 1 week ago

Far to the left are also far to the atheism, so people coming around with 'god this', 'god that' and mostly inshallah, kinda gets those gears going as well.

[–] Naive@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

And the thing I am noticing that these days, even young people are in this hate spreading machine

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

israel gets hate like russia does currently and the us. something about invading places just turns people off.

[–] Nighed@feddit.uk 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Please remember that just because someone is a Jew they don't automatically support Israel.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 1 points 1 week ago

yeah but there will be bleedover. just because someone is american does not mean they are not only not supporting the current administration but fighting it. I see plenty of general hate for americans and I sometimes might say something but I get it to.

[–] dreksob@feddit.online 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Amusingly, as a Jew.

I actually have seen a massive decrease in actual antisemitism.

Muslims are being demonized in much the same way Jews where in Nazi Germany, by much the same people, for much the same reason.

[–] Naive@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Damn, the videos that are coming to my algorithm have some Jewish influencers taking side of far right against Islam and some Jewish pages like standwithus is showing that antisemitism has increased a lot.

[–] dreksob@feddit.online 1 points 1 week ago

Standwithus is a pro-zionist group, thats best known for ah, massaging the facts...deep tissue massaging the facts.

Frankly, they border on being a hate group, and they have done more damage to the cause of jews worldwide than anybody but perhaps Israel itself.

If Standwithus is saying that anti-Semitism has increased, its a pretty good bet that actual anti-semitism has gone down (and no, saying that the IDF should stop raping Palestinians isnt anti-Semitic.)

[–] davidgro@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Yes. I think it's getting even worse, and the hate is spreading in the younger generations too.

[–] sculptor0725@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Sure is something that you made this post about how "hey wow I'm seeing a lot of racism" and the racists immediately show up and go "well, yeah, why aren't you racist?"

I think that answers your question 😅

Say that shit to my face and see what happens, racists.

[–] Naive@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

I did not notice that but I am neither white nor from these groups that I mentioned in my question

[–] quediuspayu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yes. But it is not really about religion.

[–] Naive@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

But some of the right wing and far right people I saw, they say Jews killed Jesus, Islam is the problem, Muhammad is this and that and etc.

[–] quediuspayu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

That is some bullshit some of them use as if that was a good enough excuse. I know some of those, they are morons that if you where amoral enough, in less than a month you could steer all their hate towards whatever you want.

[–] TheLeadenSea@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I hate Judaism and Islam because they legally mutilate babies

[–] andrewrgross@slrpnk.net -1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Yo I'm a practicing Jew and I didn't circumcize my kid: We don't all do that, so please don't hate the whole faith.

Also: like most Americans, I was circumcized, and while I don't support the practice I don't like when people refer to my dick as "mutilated". That's not really what being supportive of bodily autonomy looks like.

[–] TheLeadenSea@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It is mutilation whether you call it that or not, just as FGM and IGM is

I'm glad that you didn't mutilate your child

It shouldn't be a decision left to the parents

[–] andrewrgross@slrpnk.net 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Respectfully, when you talk about other people's bodies in disgust it gives the impression that you don't actually care about the people who inhabit those bodies; you're just another idealogue seeking the affirmation of your own worldview, just like your opponents.

I didn't impose circumcision on my son because I want every person to be able to modify or maintain their body as they wish. Do you want the same? I'm curious if you support adult circumcision by choice and gender affirming surgery, or if you tell those people that they're mutilated as well.

[–] TheLeadenSea@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago

I support consensual surgeries and do not consider them mutilation, just as labiaplasty is an elective surgery adults can get, but cutting off the labia of a baby is genital mutilation

[–] Naive@lemmy.world -2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I am not talking about religions, I am talking about people.

Jew is both a race and a religion. You can have ethnic Jews and religious Jews

[–] Naive@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago

I know bro. It is not a race and neither I talked about that. I just noticed something and asked about that.

[–] andrewrgross@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Fwiw, I'm only seeing this through channels I subscribe to in order to track this stuff. I see a lot of it, but not so much when I'm not seeking it out.

So some of this might be an effect of your own feed.

[–] Naive@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

yeah most of my algorithm is filled with right wing influencers
