Need to get rid of this coaching staff.

[–] user123456789011@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fire the coaching staff. Hopefully we can get Harbaugh if he’s available.

If we get Harbaugh, I say keep fields. His raw talent is incredible and what Harbaugh did with Kap was truly incredible. Might be a hot take, but I think Harbaugh can mold Fields into consistent play on the level we saw from him the last stretch of last season.

[–] Extra_Bathroom_8306@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

How about the coaching improves. Fucking retards.

[–] JTribs17@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

bears are failing the whole team and Fields is going to be the scapegoat. He’s not an amazing QB by any means but he’s also been dealt a terrible hand and asked to make due.

[–] Foxstarry@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I don’t know why I started thinking this after the game, but it really feels like Fields improvements are in spite of instead of because of coaching.

[–] 2legit2knit@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Literally the same shit with Nagy and Pace. I hate this team.

[–] Standard_Employee751@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The third-year quarterback needs to string two months of high-level play together to prove to general manager Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus that they should continue to build around him as their franchise quarterback and not jump ship to Caleb Williams Island or Drake Maye Key.

What have they done to prove that they should be the ones in control of the team next year?

[–] Moddelba@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Can we assume flus is gone and getsy is gone safely at this point? The season is done, let the kid call his own plays and see what he has. What does it matter at this point? Let madden pick the plays.

[–] msf97@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Unless they've already made up their mind. If they have, Fields faces an almost insurmountable uphill climb to change their minds.

There is not a single front office in the entire NFL keeping Fields if Caleb or Maye are on the board. Even if he puts out decent games from this point onwards. Above his career averages in each stat in every single game still wouldn’t be enough.

Trubisky had a pretty decent final 7 games. And had much more flashes of competency than Fields. He was gone.

[–] indianplayers@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Have fun when you realize Caleb or Maye are busts

I mean yes, we need to get rid of the coaches too.

I'm willing to give Poles one mulligan on the coaches, but he'd better fire these chucklefucks the day after the season ends and nail the next hire.

[–] xtow16@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I don't have an issue with running the ball at the end because Justin has repeatedly shown he can't throw it in crunch time. That said, the right move was to get Justin or Moore the ball with some space to run. And why the fuck we went for a field goal to go from 9 to 12 point lead makes no sense at all

[–] Tedy_Duchamp@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Fields can never fail, only be failed

[–] CFCcommentsonly24@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

What u talking bout? He totally failed on Sunday! He was horrible all game! Don’t be hard on yourself, your hate is warranted. So keep hating🙂

[–] mlvisby@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Since we have no chance at a playoff spot, the Bears should throw all conservative plays out of their playbook and go hard on big plays. Just take the training wheels off and see what happens. Wins at this point doesn't matter but seeing a few games where they put up a ton of yards would make it fun to watch.

[–] MichHitchSlap@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Curious if Zach Wilson’s coaches ruin him? Did the coaches ruin Mac Jones in NE? Only reason Trevor Lawrence is good is bc they fired his first NFL coach….

You all sound so ridiculous, I can’t! Nothing has ever been Fields fault around here. All I hear is that we can’t hold Fields accountable this year. You all love the pain… this coming from someone who hates our current coaching staff.

[–] TLEH-IV@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

At the end of the day, when you watch the ALL-22, he still does too many things poorly to be successful week in and week out in the league across full seasons.

If he could do what he did on the Moore TD more consistently, keep his eye down field and climb the pocket, it would go a long way. Far too often you see him feel pressure, eyes go down and he starts running. Its just never going to be consistent. You have to be able to play from the pocket more consistently and after 30+ starts I feel confident in saying this is just who he is.

[–] DaBigBlackDaddy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This season was about consistency and elevating himself into the upper echelon of qbs. Hes not even close to that

I wouldn’t be surprised if Eberflus was involved in some sort of game fixing betting scheme at this point.

[–] eblomquist@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If they nail the HC - in a way we haven't seen in a very long time, this roster is going to go off. There is so much freaking talent here that is being wasted. I cannot wait to see them go.

[–] onemanwolfpack21@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I Flus stays they could draft A 23 year old Tom Brady, and I wouldn't care. Flus is the biggest problem. They can't solve anything else until he is gone. He has shown that he does 2 things ok. Run defense and not lose the lockeroom. That's it. Name 1 other thing he does well? It's so frustrating that he is still here. The evaluation is complete. Sure, he could change. So could any player or coach. Facts are facts. He has the worst record of any coach in Bears history. If that's not enough, he hasn't won a single division game. If that's not enough, how about all the blown leads. If that's not enough, how about all the penalties. If that's not enough, how about all the blown coverages and players that seemingly don't know where to line up. None of the other conversations matter until Flus is gone. I can make this same kind of pros and cons list for Fields and Fields. I would certainly have cons, but he would have a lot more pros than Flus. If Warren wants to flush them all, I don't care. But the absolute worst mistake this franchise could make is keeping Flus and then drafting another QB, and there is a growing narrative that it might happen, and it makes me sick.

[–] Imhere4thejokes@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’ll give him THOSE 2 things you’re absolutely right, its a miracle he hasn’t lost the locker room because by this time during the Trestman yrs it was a pure diarrhea shitshow.

[–] BuffaloBrain884@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The Bears were 32nd in passing yards last year. They're 25th this year. We need a new QB and a new coaching staff.

We will likely have the #1 pick. It's the perfect opportunity to start fresh and have all levels of the organization aligned.

[–] Jorikstead@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fields is great, all other takes will be reported for racism.

[–] In-the-bunker@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Everlose will be gone on Black Monday if Poles is a legitimate general manager. For the next Head Coach, I would like to see Harbaugh, but that will change if Sean McVay is on the market.(there are rumors)

A quarterback on a rookie deal is the best value in sports. Most experts think Williams is the closest quarterback to Mahomes, so even if Fields plays well, Poles will pick Williams if the Bears have the first pick. I favor Maye, but the selection will be Williams.

[–] jarod7736@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Jesusfuckingchrist the "college kid, I played high school football" takes are ridiculous... no one on this sub has the qualifications to evaluate talent. Full stop.

[–] nearfal08@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I have more confidence in Fields as our QB next year than this front office drafting someone better than him.

[–] LegalComplaint@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Amen. Although Poles has done a damn fine job figuring out the Oline with the exception if center. Secondary is pretty good when healthy and Sweat might be worth the second rounder they gave up.

This question is unproductive.

In my humble opinion, Eberflus won’t be fired this year. They’ll make him hire a DC and publicly delegate play-calling. Getsy will stay as well for continuity.

The bears will definitely draft a QB at some point in the draft next year for security.

The only question is will it this be with the Panthers pick (intending for franchise qb) or a later pick (developmental) because they can trade that premium pick for more cheap assets. In terms of value added, an extra first round pick is more valuable than 3 year earlier on the “QB clock” which really only matters for those rare QBs that have no learning curve like Stroud and Herbert. For everyone else, it takes time.

This will come down to the draft evaluation process, Poles did the same thing last year and he will not make any premature decisions or statements. It wouldn’t be smart from a leverage perspective.

Bears brass will meet all of these guys and see where they’re at. Their grasp of the game, leadership, intangible traits and measurables. If Poles falls in love with one of Williams, Maye or another, he will draft them and allow them to compete with JF, no question. This would probably mean a trade for JF in the year.

If not then they’ll run it back with a stacked roster and continue the ultimate evaluation which is do you pay JF or not.

Debating it now doesn’t really matter.

Poles will not decide until all the data points are in.

I feel like this team is capable of being very good. The defense is decent, fields is decent, running backs are decent, WR is improved. So many more flashes of brilliance than the Jets, Steelers, or Carolina. It’s definitely coaching at this point.

[–] Dependent-Edge-5713@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They need to play him like they're forever tied at 0 with the other team all game for the rest of the season

[–] Trubrewski91@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Same old story, funny how same situations seem to appear decade after decade with this team.

[–] ayymikey17@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s crazy for me to see Justin fields being written off so quickly. I’m gonna go on a little rant so please feel free to chime in. I’ve never been more excited in a draft pick for the bears as I was in fields. I 100% believe this is coaching malpractice. I like poles and believe he wasn’t able to truly pick his HC when flus was hired. The best situation for this bears team to be in is to have Fields look good rest of the year. Trubisky had a way better record and even remember him throwing a 6TD game, but I never felt he was truly our franchise QB. Trubisky was still given more time, he was just lucky he had great team surrounding him. Caleb and Maye or both great prospects. I still believe the true generational prospect is MHJ. Would love for the bears to trade off #1 overall pick for a historic haul. Draft MHJ with the second first rounder. Look at the raiders. They drafted the QB prospect in the draft and people call it the biggest draft bust in NFL history (Jamarcus Russell), guess who went next at #2 overall. Calvin Johnson. To end this, I believe you can be the best QB prospect and have all the tools, but situation and organization matters. If fields was selected by the niners instead of lance like he should’ve been, the whole narrative on fields is completely changed. Give me fields one more year, and then you can move on if he doesn’t improve with a real coaching staff. Thank you for coming to my ted talk lol

That have no trust in their QB, but they’ll let anyone in off the street to play center. The details on this team are just atrocious, and that’s all on the coach
