Looking at the rest of the current top teams in the NFL and their records against teams that currently hold a winning record:

  • Eagles (9-1) are 4-0

  • Ravens (8-3) are 4-2

  • Chiefs (7-3) are 3-2

  • 49ers (7-3) are 3-2

  • Jaguars (7-3) are 1-3

  • Cowboys (7-3) are 0-2

  • Dolphins (7-3) are 0-3

Part of the Lions's low record against winning teams is due to a weaker NFC North this season (although Vikings currently hold a winning record and Lions have yet to play them). But it still stands that the Lions have had a relatively weaker schedule this year, and have not defeated a team with a current winning record since Week 1.

This stands to change with upcoming games against the Vikings (6-5) and Cowboys (7-3), as well as possibly the Broncos and Saints (5-5) depending on how their records turn out.

Oh no. They suck again

[–] Uncle_Paul_Hargis@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

After 10 games they've only played 3 with winning records? That's pretty crazy.

[–] shewy92@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'm glad I don't have to hear how we haven't beaten a good team like all of last year. Though we did lose to the Jets.

[–] GogettheDrill@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

can we do .500 and above too

[–] Solid-Confidence-966@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Toney also gifted them that win lol

[–] Financial-Phone@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Am I stupid? How are we 1-3 when we beat both the Steelers and the Bills?

[–] CloudN3in@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

they lost to the AFC leader, beat the last Super Bowl champion at home, and nearly won against a good Seahawks team pre-offensive implosion

still a good team at 8-2

All i gotta say, last year when the eagles were killing an easy schedule no one said anything keep the same energy

It’s almost like the schedule is made up by the NFL before the season starts and you can only play the teams that are already scheduled. They’ve also beaten up on a ton of teams and have played 2 bad games this whole season. Last weekend against the Bears in which they still rallied to win and a few weeks ago where were completely outclassed by the Ravens. This Lions team will go toe-to-toe with pretty much anybody.

[–] empty33@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Jags are 2-3 (wins over Buffalo and Pitt).

They're also 3-0 over teams that are .500 (2x colts and Saints), which feels relevant since they'd have a winning record without those losses. Which should also go for the rest of these teams.

[–] Majestic_Reindeer439@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They're good. I only wonder if Goff is gonna struggle in the playoffs like he did his last year or so with the Rams. Should be a tough out regardless.

[–] Gaijin_Titty_Master@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Ok? Meanwhile a bunch of fraud ass teams are up there too.

[–] Winterclaw42@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Cowboys-Dolphins on Christmas eve is going to be a tie, isn't it?

Also, it looks like we are going to have a bird-bowl this year.

I'm extremely curious to see how that Cowboys game goes.

We've beaten a couple of teams that had winning records at the time of the loss. We can't help the fact that losing to the Lions breaks the mentally weak.

We've also only had 2 division games, one of them being this past weekend, at this point, so the weak NFC north doesn't really matter in this argument. For whatever reason, the league decided to back load our season with division games

The Dolphins have yet to beat a team with a winning record.

[–] nedmac12@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No Flair, don't care

[–] Ocean_Bee@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Now tell me how many games the Eagles won by more than 1 posession

[–] The_Jolly_Dog@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Pff losers, they should have a losing record against BAD teams too.

Thats where its at

Dolphins and Cowboys being 0-5 combined is more concerning.

[–] BrandoCalrissian1995@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

How many had a winning record when they played and went to .500 or lower after a loss?

And what's the margin of victory against teams with a losing record?

[–] xenophonthethird@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Well somebody had to help them get that losing record.

[–] Yabba_Dabba_Doofus@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Shut it down guys. It's Eagles/49ers, and Ravens/Chiefs in the CGs this year, no need to finish the season.

Sorry Browns, you almost made it. But you are .500, against teams that are .500 and above. You just missed the cut; you played yourself.

Broncos are 3-2 against teams with a winning record.

But we're also 2-3 against teams with a losing record

So make of that however you will

These are always dumb. Team plays who is on the schedule.

Playoffs are the real test anyways. Where everyone starts 0-0.

Op tossing out the big ZZZzzz...

[–] DRAGON_FUCKER_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

3 games vs winning teams a crazy large sample size here. Next

[–] patienceandtime@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah well we will be back to .500 (1-1) against them after the Seahawks lose a couple more games. So joke is on you.

[–] callmecyke@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

What I’m taking away from this is that the Cowboys are flat track bullies who can’t beat a winning team

[–] BeefInGR@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Eh. One more win for back to back winning seasons. Need to beat the Vikings once to have a chance at winning the division. Absolutely must win against Green Bay and Chicago. That gets them to 11 wins. 13 guarantees the division.

Don't want to be a negative Nancy but I'm pretty sure that the next 4 weeks will flip one of those 2 teams' record...

[–] Peefersteefers@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Crazy to me that they've only played 3 teams with winning records.

[–] KKamm_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Don’t really see the point to this statistic tbh. Obvs I’m biased, but you could easily include the end of last season too since it’s basically the same team

[–] Shootit_Rockets@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Texans (6-4) are 2-1

[–] Robertosaur@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Haven’t they been through enough? Cmon, let them have it.

[–] zsdr56bh@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Vikings are 6-5

Their losses? One was vs the Chiefs. One was vs the Eagles and despite playing on the road on a short week (Thursday game) and despite a JJ touchdown becoming a touchback they lost by 1 score. They fucked up against the Chargers and Broncos and should have won but barely lost, the Broncos game was influenced heavily by refs (early 'fumble' that led to a field goal when no flag was thrown but the league still suspended the player for 4 games for his hit on the QB afterwards. Would have been a 1st down instead of a turnover and they lost by 1).

But they haven't beaten anyone really good. They beat the saints and falcons and packers and bears and shit. the week 16 and 18 games against the Lions are gonna be the real tests for the division.

[–] MajoraOfTime@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Vikings fans haven't gotten over losing to the Giants in the playoffs, I see

[–] SicWilly666@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think the Lions are definitely a legitimately good team, however I think they are going to struggle to make a deep run in the playoffs.

The playoffs are just a different game entirely and they have no experience in those type of games yet.

[–] Lubbafrommariogalaxy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The dolphins of the nfc

[–] Numerous_Conflict_73@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They will probably win 3 of those 4 games. Cowboys of course will be real test if they are play off material.

[–] TattoosandSnapbacks@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We had this shit said to us all last year, and we made it to the dance while hanging around until the final minute.

You can only play and beat the teams in front of you. You win some. You lose some.

[–] allergic2URbullshit@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Very good post. Very "hmmmm" inducing.

[–] PSUDolphins@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Lions are good. The frauds argument is so overdone. I see it parroted in every single thread with someone thinking they are posting an original comment.
