I'm not sure "we shouldn't update this 400 years old map" is the argument they think it is.
Global News
What is global news?
Something that happened or was uncovered recently anywhere in the world. It doesn't have to have global implications. Just has to be informative in some way.
Post guidelines
Title format
Post title should mirror the news source title. If you don't like the title of article, look for an alternative source instead of editorializing it.
URL format
Post URL should be the original link to the article (even if paywalled) and archived copies left in the body. It allows avoiding duplicate posts when cross-posting.
[Opinion] prefix
Opinion (op-ed) articles must use [Opinion] prefix before the title. Opinion articles refer to articles that their publisher doesn't explictly endorse.
Country prefix
Country prefix can be added to the title with a separator (|, :, etc.) if the news is from a local publisher who doesn't clearly mention the country.

“Instead of focusing on genuine problems… this body is debating map projects from the 16th century and their role in promoting reparations and cognitive justice," US representative Yaryna Ferencevych said ahead of the vote.
Since the US is the only country against it, the reason there was a debate was the US.
Wait until he hears what the US government is doing instead of focusing on genuine problems...
Heh, this is a good point.
Although, there may have been some debate over which alternative projection was the best option.

That's real fucking rich, coming from the same administration that just recently decided renaming Lake Ontario was important and urgent enough to do unilaterally and with no warning.
Lol look at Florida
It was cold outside on the day they made the map.
If either US, China, or Russia are mad about something that everyone pushed, then it's mostly a good thing.
"ire from the United States" bruh it's literally a map, the planet is exactly the same as it was before. What a stupid thing to get upset about. Literally who cares
Remember that the Trump administration is a bunch of overgrown children who cannot take even the tiniest of perceived slights. Least of all the child rapist in chief.
We just renamed a second body of water because Canada refused to stop speaking French
This is the dumbest timeline
The US is currently waging war on maps, so...
The Trump regime has been frequenting maps and eating menus for a while now, don't even bother telling them the map is not the territory. They only want to live in their own narratives.

She hasn't been home for a long time, hasn't she?
