I assumed it meant that 2012 was too new.
Unless they just forgot a hyphen. There's a big difference between "post-2012 era memes" and "post 2012 era memes".

10 years might as well be a hundred in internet time
10 years is good enough for scotch, and at 25 it's a classic. So ya seems as good a bar as any.
Well yeah, that'd be the year Wind Waker came out (remember getting it at launch) so that's vintage to me.
Edit: oh fuck no I've just realised. That was 20 years ago.
