How DARE you disrespect Gary Oldman like that

[–] TWeaK@lemm.ee 32 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I think if Gary Oldman played Musk he'd look much more like Musk. Dude somehow manages to change his face so well.

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 16 points 2 years ago (1 children)

He's a chameleon. I always have to look up what characters he plays because I can't picture it.

[–] Duranie@midwest.social 4 points 2 years ago

It took me far too long to realize he played Drexel in True Romance. Like, that's one of my favorite movies and it took several watches and seeing his name in the credits to catch it. The Professional was amazing too (which is where Drexel's wig came from lol. )

That is an insult to Zorg.

Zorg is twice the villain that Musk will ever be.

[–] originalfrozenbanana@lemm.ee 54 points 2 years ago

At least Zorg had a plan

[–] kautau@lemmy.world 41 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Voila! The ZF-1. It's light. Handle's adjustable for easy carrying, good for righties and lefties. Breaks down into four parts, undetectable by x-ray, ideal for quick, discreet interventions. A word on firepower. Titanium recharger, three thousand round clip with bursts of three to three hundred, and with the Replay button - another Zorg invention - it's even easier.

I hate warriors, too narrow-minded. I'll tell you what I do like though: a killer, a dyed-in-the-wool killer. Cold blooded, clean, methodical and thorough. Now a real killer, when he picked up the ZF-1, would've immediately asked about the little red button on the bottom of the gun.

What a great little speech to introduce the villain to the audience, with an excellent delivery by Mr. Oldman. Hot damn.

[–] kautau@lemmy.world 16 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Agreed! Fifth Element is in my top 5 favorite films, and Gary Oldman is a big reason why.

[–] Letstakealook@lemm.ee 16 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Oldman and Tucker really contributed to making that film such a fun romp.

[–] Burninator05@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

FIFY: Oldman and Tucker really contributed to making that film ~~such a fun romp~~ super green.

[–] littlecolt@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (3 children)

Green? Sorry, I'm going to ask what that means.

What does that mean? Was it slang from the movie? I'm not sure I remember.

Say what you will about the tenets of Zorg Enterprises. At least he has an ethos.

[–] PochoHipster@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 years ago

And zen ve cut off your Johnson!

[–] RollForInitiative@feddit.de 24 points 2 years ago

Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg - i'll never forget his name (at least it's not X). Gary Oldman is great as always in a fantastic movie.

[–] GrammatonCleric@lemmy.world 20 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I mean, Zorg is written like a future version of Musk, so this tracks.

[–] Decoy321@lemmy.world 28 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Musk wishes he could become Zorg.

[–] MoreOrLess@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

Fire one million

[–] moog@lemm.ee 17 points 2 years ago

He's zorg but incompetent and somehow less likeable

[–] nevemsenki@lemmy.world 14 points 2 years ago

Praise Zorg!

[–] db2@sopuli.xyz 11 points 2 years ago

Like I said last time, the difference is Zorg actually made something that works.

[–] WooWooKachoo@lemm.ee 9 points 2 years ago

Looks like if him and Bezos had a kid.

[–] 1984@lemmy.today 5 points 2 years ago

Not mental enough.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Swap trump and musk names/ photos and you're good.

[–] GuyWithLag@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Nah. Zorg was competent.
