Make a contact in your phone with Fuck Fucking Fucker Fucked. This works for anything. Any Contact in your phone will allow you to type that word out without trying to correct it.

The keyboard is without any doubt the WORST part of iOS. That Apple STILL has not made a good keyboard for iOS is beyond me. Google figured it out 8 years ago.
I’d say the keyboard and the notifications — such a shit show.
They still sell more and more iPhones. Maybe if this would decline they would concentrate more on issues.
They lied. Autocorrect is still shit because it doesn’t have an actual personal dictionary to remember what you tell it to remember.
This bugged me so much but it learned my habits in a week. In turkish we have "aga" it means bro, and we have "ağa" it usually means the wealthiest and most reputable person on a village. It learnes quick tho
iOS can do third party keyboards now right? Best recommendation? Autocorrect really sucks bad since 17!
Apple keyboard is terrible on all levels. I have no idea how or why it's that terrible. The personal dictionary on Gboard and Swiftkey is a million times better.

The ducking auto correction still makes me laugh, so I keep it instead of doing the learning function. 😂
I used a trick where I put my initials to be text replaced by my email address for easy form fills. This just completely stopped working out of the blue one day. Sucks, it was so helpful.
I do this as well. It still works fine for me. Have you checked your keyboard text replacement settings? I remember them getting cleared out once after an update. If they’re still there, would try deleting and re-creating them.
I’ve noticed a lot of weird things with auto correct since iOS 17 came out. Just this morning it decided that Jeep wasn’t a word and kept autocorrecting to keep.
Add your own words: Settings>General>Keyboard>Text Replacement:

I think you have to press on the word after it’s corrected and on the undo button that pops up
I’ve noticed autocorrect has tanked since the last update. Seems worse than it ever was and doesn’t seem to learn
It’s also reactively auto correcting words several words behind and it’s driving me insane, like why are you correcting a word I typed 8 words ago.
I HATE this. Easily one of my biggest irritants with the keyboard, although it hasn’t been happening to me as frequently as it used to on like 15/16

That’s because after this update, all of what the keyboard learned over the years of you using your phone’s keyboard was reset. So essentially you’re typing as if you’ve just got a brand new phone. And the new autocorrect stuff is dependant on machine learning and only works on iPhone 12 or above
To me autocorrect on iOS 17 doesn’t feel like an improvement at all.
iOS 16 was bad for me and iOS 17 didn’t fix anything. English is not my native language but believe me when I say this is much worse in other languages. I even looked at other keyboards, it is that bad.

I just disable autocorrect as a whole
Go to settings > general> keyboard > text replacement. Add this and your problem will never happen again
Funny part is you can say it’s fucking bad, but I managed to type that without an issue. And even if not, it can correct like 6 words behind with more context.
Tap the word fucking on the left side of the suggestions and iOS will learn that’s what you mean. That’s how you train the autocorrect system.

No offense, but why the hell would anyone use the default keyboard when SwiftKey exists?
I made a text replacement for this and it hasn’t let me down on the occasion I DO want to use ducking…. when I typed this I realised how I never use the word ducking
I think it got worse. Wife and I switched because ios17, especially the autocorrect, got so bad. We would have to constantly go back and fix anything we typed. We also got an incredible amount of spam calls that seems to have been fixed by moving to Samsung. Kind of sad because in general, I like Apple products.
