Fields knew he shouldn’t have eaten that buttery popcorn before the game!

He has to be better with ball security that’s a fact.

I wonder if it has anything to do with his thumb. Not defending it and I know he needs to be better, just a thought.

He was fumbling even before the thumb jnjury

Justin isn't even in the top 15 for fumbles LOST, so yes he fumbles the ball but not all of these result in turnovers.

How does that make it better? That just means he's lucky that he isn't even more of a turnover liability. He has butter hands

He usually fumbles the ball on the sideline for what it’s worth

He's pretty much in the middle of the road when it comes to fumbles. I know he's missed 4 games but even between weeks 1-6, he only had 4 fumbles and lost 1. That's excellent considering his fumble stats last year.

It's worth its own post I think.

I wonder why the bears are better at recovering his fumbles than most of the other teams that have the 'lost' stat recorded

Does that stat include fumbles that went out of bounds? Some of Fields fumbles seemed to be just not protecting the ball near the sideline probably figuring if it comes out its just bouncing out of bounds anyways. Not that I'm saying he should be doing that, but its not as bad as open field fumbles. Just trying to figure out why they lose less than a third of the fumbles and most other teams are over 50%. Maybe all those other qb's are losing fumbles on sacks and they're harder to recover.

I'd say most of them fall under this category.

It's exactly this, more often than not his fumbles are running out of bounds or the center QB exchange being botched (s/o to mustipher, who is at fault for quite a few of these)
