Interested to know what everyone does when they have a formal date or wedding etc. do you wear your Apple Watch as is? Switch a band out? Go watch less? Switch to a nicer watch (Swiss, seiko) etc.

I have a Tissot Automatic I changed too

When I wear formal, its usually long sleeves for me and my watch is hidden most of the time. I still have an all metal Timex watch if really needed but most of the time (heh) I wear mine with the Nike band that came with it.

I always wear my apple watch (unless it’s not allowed). I even wore it during my graduation.

I wear a nicer band most of the time and switch to a rubber band on vacations with oceans

Nicer band. If it was my own wedding I’d go watchless but otherwise, meh

Usually switch to my gold Milanese loop with gold stainless steel series 7. It’s a handsome combo imo and Apple Watches are ubiquitous enough that it’s normal. But stainless definitely adds a small level of class and pop compared to aluminum

Milanese loop on ceramic white apple watch is my goto for formal wear

[–] maysamsh@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

In most cases I wear my Apple Watch, I have another classic looking watch that I would wear in very formal occasions.

Nicer band, Simple watch face with no hour/marks or complications, so it looks like a Movado. For my SO, I took a photo of her Bulova high school graduation gift, and made a Clockology face…which I really need to remember to upload sometime.

I have a stainless steel Kate Spade band and a variety of cases that I use for a dressier look.

Mechanical watch for formal. But I also switch bands on Apple Watch from time to time just for kicks

Wearing all the time. Use different bands.

Nicer band and watch face

[–] elizabeth_thai72@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Part of the reason why I got the starlight band, to wear it for formal occasions. Those steps aren’t going to track themselves 😂

I recently went to the wedding of a billionaire. I was so worried about what watch I would wear to not stick out amongst high society.

I looked over at the dad of the bride, who has the net worth of a small country, and he was wearing a Samsung galaxy watch.

People with real wealth don’t give a shit about fancy watches.

I wear my AWU everywhere for every occasion including dates. No change of band. Original to the end...

[–] Nipper275847@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

On a rare occasion I will wear my Tag Heuer. I rely on the Apple Watch for so many things.

[–] ClungeWhisperer@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nicer band.

[–] bsal69@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This is why I like the stainless steel model. You can dress it up esicpally with the Milanese loop

[–] FiftyBurger@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Formal occasions I’ll wear a normal watch, although I do have nicer bands for my Apple Watch if I want. I just think smart watches look goofy with a suit. Might get some flak for that but just my opinion.

[–] Hot_Blackberry_6895@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

People are looking at the bride not your watch.

[–] ScurrScurrSheesh@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

But what if the bride wears an Apple Watch?

[–] nixxkk00@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’ve seen those mad man wearing both on each wrist

[–] Yugikisp@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I paid a lot of money for this Ultra. I’m wearing it to any occasion.

It’s my phone anyways lol.

[–] M3m7@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I have my previous watch’s Nike Nylon band and I bought Blue Alpine Loop band for my Apple Watch Ultra so when I do workout I switch to Nike Band and when I go to work I use Blue Alpine Loop Band

[–] sterlingma1@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I got the dark grey Milanese band with the watch. Have worn it every day. I don’t concern myself with what others think of my look.

[–] jusatinn@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Always the Watch. If I'm wearing a suit or leather shoes with something else, I'll just match the band to the shoes (and belt).

[–] SuperfujiMaster@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

for my AWU, I do swap to the titanium band if wearing a formal attire.

[–] zubeye@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’m too far gone

[–] ScurrScurrSheesh@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I know someone who wear their Apple Watch for their wedding… by itself nothing wrong but she used the standard silicone band and if I were here I would have gotten a different band because in my eyes it destroyed her outfit.

[–] AleSklaV@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My AWU is actually suited to any circumstance.

For office and formal ones, I swap the band to a titanium one and the watch face to a simple California

[–] Qwerky42O@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yes, Apple Watch always. I change my band depending on where I’m going. I have a Sport Band for the gym, a Milanese band that I typically wear and a Pride band that I wear when I remember to change into it, but it’s typically for casual things where I’d be more active than normal and don’t want to fuss with my Milanese band (which can require constant adjustment).

[–] DiskKiller2@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Going to get downvoted, but a gadget tied to your wrist is never a classy look, even if the band is fancier. Wouldn’t wear my AW to a wedding, but so many people do, it’s no longer a real faux pas. Just a personal preference. People wear dirty, unmatching shoes with suits as well.

Apple Watch today, Apple Watch tomorrow, Apple Watch forever.

[–] Bacon4Lyf@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I switch it out for the correct watch for the occasion, won’t catch me lookin like some spykids shit in a suit with a tablet strapped to my wrist

[–] aliveinjoburg2@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I wore my Apple watch on my wedding day. The photographer asked me if I would take it off and I had to.

[–] AccountWorried9386@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I normally use a Lotus dive that I have for these special occasions but I love wearing my AWS7

[–] Inkdrunnergirl@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I change the band if need be. My Apple Watch is in my daughter’s wedding photos, the band matches my dress.

[–] Ybalrid@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You definitely can make an Apple Watch look a lot more "dressed up" with a nice choice of band and face.

(Well, maybe not the ultra... 😅)

[–] splintercell786@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I switch to my gold old chunky analog watch for formal occasions when I have to wear a full suit like weddings etc. If it’s smart-cas then I go with the Apple Watch but with either the leather or metal links strap.
