It’s no longer a debate. Bears fans and Chicago media gushing over a 12-10 win after his “comeback” drive against a team playing with a journeyman backup. We scored 3 fucking points off 4 turnovers..give me a fucking break. Let’s be real here, if Cousins and JJ were playing, that game wouldn’t have been close and Fields probably would’ve had a couple picks as well from having to throw the ball to keep up with them. The standard for QB play within the Bears world is so low that no one knows what great or just good QB play is, that we’re over here pounding our chests after a game where the defense got 4 INTs resulting in our kicker having to make 4 FGs to win the game. This is the story of Fields career here. He takes 2 steps forward showing great progress, then takes 2 back with abysmal or mediocre play.
The stupidity of people dumping all the blame on fields after watching that offensive gameplan makes me scared for the future of humanity. If people that dumb are walking the earth around us, I think we already might be doomed as a species.
I am not saying that fields is some perfect QB with no issues. But how can anyone watching that game believe that he is being put in situations to succeed? Getsys gameplans look like a scared 9 year old using Ask Madden.
I am just happy we have a solid defense again. I love the days when our defense / special teams dominated and our offense scored just enough to win.
Stares off at the Texans....yea just give this QB more time, I'm sure the Bears will have plenty of opportunities to draft top 5 twice in the same draft.
