Shaders: Nostalgia but it looks different in-game because yes I took a photo of a screen fight me x3
Resource packs: Mizuno's 16 Craft and Overgrown Flowery GUI and also Dynamic Surroundings and French Fonts but you can't see those there
That's cool I can't run shaders unfortunately when I play MC on my laptop because it's very outdated hardware (compounded by the fact that it used ti be a Chromebook) I have all the Optifine settings turned to the most efficient and the quality and render distance turned all the way down. It's actually kinda impressive I'm able to run MC on a laptop like this at all.
Yeah shaders work great on the deck, in my photo it's running at 30FPS but that's because I locked it at that rate to save battery when not plugged in so keep in mind that the battery might not last too long if you're playing a game with crazy graphics or at a high framerate
Oh btw for current versions of MC I recommend the Fabulously Optimized modpack (or just Sodium and any other performance/QOL/etc mods from that and similar packs) instead of optifine, my old PC could barely run Optifine but it worked perfectly with FO and apparently it's the same for everyone else
Yeah I head that the deck has pretty short battery life, especially on more demanding games.
Oh that's very cool, I'll definitely Try out FO, if I'm being honest I usually don't play newer versions on this laptop since they always performed so poorly, I usually play 1.8 but have gone up to 1.12 without problems. I'll definitely try out that modpack.
STEAM DECK MENTION
Man I'm so Jealous right now, the Steam Deck looks so cool, I kind of wish I could get one, I hear they're great for emulation (better than the Switch is), plus I've already grown tired of my Switch Library. I should try and get one soon, I hear the OLED one is a major upgrade from the OG one.
It really is as cool as it looks x3 and yes absolutely better than the Switch, the only issue I have with it is that Desktop Mode has some limitations like for example SteamOS is arch-based but you can't use pacman at all... so I might go back to pure Arch like in my other 'puters but the virtual keyboard is a big plus... but there's got to be a tutorial on how to get that working
And I dont know about the OLED model, I got the Refurbished 512GB one before the OLED one came out and I've never had an OLED screen but I've also heard the upgrade is very notable
At first I thought the greenery on the UI was a GPU error (puts seemingly random pixels on stuff sometimes). Is this mine test you are playing there?
