Oppenheimer 2: Oppenheimer, Einstein and Turing team up for one last mission when alien invaders/evil cultists/a mad scientist’s minions seize the doomsday device and the President’s daughter.

I wanna see an Ivy League Of Heroes, led by elder statesmen Einstein and Godel, like Kirk and Spock but absent-minded and eccentric, brilliant but a little comical with an "Oy vey!" sprinkled here and there. The younger physicists taking turns to shine in each thrilling installment.

The names for each story are there for the taking:

The Ultraviolet Catastrophe
The Photoelectric Effect
The Uncertainty Principle
The Exclusion Principle
Spooky Action At A Distance
The Incompleteness Theorem

not only would that sell but the merchandizing would be gold.

This time he bombs the lizard people back to Alpha Draconis.

[–] MossyFeathers@pawb.social 5 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

I love that the lizard people supposedly have external testicles and a single, tiny dick. Apparently the person who did that drawing couldn't be assed to look up reptile anatomy; if they had they woulda discovered that reptiles have internal testes, and if they possess a penis, they usually possess two, not one.

The fact the lizard man has a tiny dick says it all.

People would watch that shit. Don't give them any ideas.

All I want is footage of a meeting where a dipshit studio exec pitches Nolan on creating the Oppenheimer Cinematic Universe.

Oppenheimer 2: The Heimering!

See, Oppenheimer on steroids

See, total nuclear annihilation

See, sex scenes that have no place in the story

Coming to theaters near you!

[–] nifty@lemmy.world 17 points 2 years ago

It could go meta and be about filming Oppenheimer.

Op. Op op.

Oppen Heimer Style.

[–] Yaztromo@lemmy.world 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

An indirect sequel that used the same sets and cast (where it makes sense) dealing with the Demon Core could be interesting - but I don’t know if there would be enough there for a full feature-length film or not.

[–] perviouslyiner@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

The demon core was so well covered by existing media, to the point of being a meme, that it was almost refreshing to see Oppenheimer not attempt to cover it

[–] Pons_Aelius@kbin.social 13 points 2 years ago

Isn't Godzilla minus one the sequel?

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Oppenheimer 2 is about him lamenting that the atmosphere didn't ignite after all, and spending the rest of his life tryinh desperately to do that.

That would be the Teller biopic.

[–] Sibbo@sopuli.xyz 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Did he do anything else movie-worthy in his live? I guess not? Would be quite a pointless sequel.

[–] Veraxus@kbin.social 9 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

In an attempt to atone for creating the bomb, Julius Robert Oppenheimer would go on to invent a quantum teleportation device. But when a failed experiment sends him back in time, attracting the attention of a hostile alien species, he is forced to turn his invention into a weapon that will expose the alien homeworld to a distant black hole...

[–] niktemadur@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

What about the one after that?

Oppenheimer 3: Season Of The Witch.
Oppenheimer 3: A New Beginning.
The Oppen Heimer Rises.

Here's one for all you quantum physics geeks...
Oppenheimer 33 1/137: The Fine (Structure) Insult.

Image Comics fans wept

[–] neocamel@lemmy.studio 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I agree.

What does "on the cards" even mean?

I assume they meant "in the cards" as in: something that will be happening in the future.

[–] yamapikariya@lemmyfi.com 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

There is room for a sequel
