the vegan struggle session in hexbear is a real life example of shiri's scissor
(another example would be the nuclear power debate in the environmental movement, as it is a controversial issue that divides a group that would've otherwise thought of themselves as one unified group)
i guess but the anti-nuclear people have borne out to be objectively wrong because 50+ years of new plants would've made a huge difference to climate change while vegans are generally not frightened boomers and the ethical philosophy component of veganism doesn't exist for nuclear power.
