Well, I wanted to buy some, but I never had enough money.

One day I'll save enough to afford those obnoxious pants with all the chains and stuff

This is where we went to look at Memes before there were memes.

We had to walk past all the bongs, 'tobacco' pipes, doc Martens, and band t-shirts to get to the posters.

Sounds like Spencers. I looked back at my elementary and middle school pictures and I was always wearing some shirt from there.

POV: you're 37 and spend 3 hours looking at memes, but don't print any.

Spacing all of the posters out perfectly just to then push them all to one side and hearing the frames hit each other.

We had a Camelot where I grew up, but I was top young to really appreciate it at the time

It's still around. There's one in a mall near me.

[–] PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Same, actually, but do you remember it? What a place back in the day

[–] son_named_bort@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Oh yeah, it definitely isn't as good as it used to be.

It was our form of a museum, growing up

Indo that when I visit record stores! Especially with CD stores.

Gotta find all the bikini posters

[–] dmention7@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

The art of making sure to linger just long enough to seem like you were casually enjoying them on the same level as the Green Day poster, without lingering so long as to raise suspicion...

What was the name of that posters store? (mostly 1990s). Man, I bought like 5 posters there.

Spencer's? It had a spot for posters, but it wasn't really a poster store.

[–] ThirdWorldOrder@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

There’s still a Spencer’s at the mall near me (Dulles, VA)
