Does the 16 require DDR5 or can it support DDR4?

Is 64gb the max RAM that the chip will support? Trying to find info in the 7840HS but nowhere is telling me.

I don't know about the CPU, but the Framework has a maximum of 96GB (2x 48GB SODIMMs).

Edit: Found the deep-dive link! Though it shows a max of 64GB.

Thanks! I'll have to reach out to support to add RAM to my order, then. I had been hoping to reuse RAM I already had.

No, DDR4 and DDR5 are not compatible with each other. So they won't be on the Framework or any other device for that matter. You will need to use sodimm DDR5 ram with the laptop.
