Agreed. Not Indian, but people seem surprised at the rating? And very competitive against Pakistan.
India even lags behind in manufacturing wrt Bangladesh and Vietnam too.
Nothing surprising. Indian GDP is bloated with 6%+ inflation which their central bank considers normal. So cost of everything doubled every decade.
But the wages are stagnant. There is 0% real wage growth in the last 10 years.

Not even 1% percent Indians can afford a medical emergency.

People have every reason to be unhappy
India is a rich country with a majority of poor people. That's why GDP rank is 5th while per capita income rank is 129th.
Because of this people lack access to quality healthcare or education to improve their lives.
