It blocks bunch of JS from being executed, and if it detects XSS, it gives you a popup to inform you.

Hmm, that is the reason you should have addons in your browser to prevent XSS, like uBlock.

Yeap, that is the first thing you do for any privileged account.

For any newcomers to fediverse. It takes some time to get oriented and started. During that, initially all joins the same community that is available on the local instance before they get hang of Lemmy.

This nature of fediverse is good, but it also creates multiple communities, thus it disperses out the users.

So the goal is to make this as an official, so that all the dispersed users from other instances have a common community instead of sparsely populated small ones, which in turn limits interactions.

Hope I was able to give you my reasoning behind making this one Official.

And on another note, welcome :)

Hope this gives all of us a common platform to interact with each other more.

Yeap, I understand what you are referring to. I used to participate there frequently, but when it started happening I kinda moved away from being a participant to just a lurker.

As it goes, you learn from your experience, one thing we are trying our best is, as long as it doesn't break this lemmy instance's rules, we don't interfere.

There should be freedom of speech, as long as its in respectable manner and no personal attacks.

Welcome folks to the Republic of India.

Yeap, I moved a week before on Lemmy. Took couple of days to figure out how it actually works.

During that time opened a bunch of accounts on different instances.

Now I am on a small instance, which is near my location, so speed is good.

I stopped visiting that place since then. Now I only contribute here. I don't want to give them free labor so that they can make money.

Hello and welcome r/India Reddit Refugees to Official India community on Lemmy

I moved to Lemmy and was missing one of my favorite sub.

After missing it, I decided to create and make it available to others like me.

Welcome all and let’s create a healthy environment for discussion and sharing tips.

Hello and welcome. I took over and setup this community, specifically because I have spent close to a decade participating, to guide/help fellow redditors on that sub. I moved to Lemmy and wanted to give other refugees like me a place they can feel home.

I guess Reddit has already shown hostility towards fediverse in the past. If enough people do it then it just might be that they would not get all at same time and others on Reddit might be able to see and decide on their own what they would like to do.

I am on the same boat. I was on Reddit for close to 10 years, and this encouraged me to look for alternative. And you know what, now after spending few days here on Lemmy, it has started to grow on me. Especially the toxic free environment.

After chef Noopur Chaughule’s parents decided to leave the city and settle in their ancestral hometown of Guhagar in Maharashtra, her visit home from Toronto became a turning point in her life. She started a venture called Ayra Farms, which offers stay, food, activities, and organic farming. Get inspired! Click here to read about the amazing people making a positive impact today!

“One day, I will build a farmhouse here,” Rajan Chaughule, a journalist from Mumbai, thought to himself in 2014, as he stood before his ancestral piece of land in Guhagar, Maharashtra.

Anyone who heard Rajan’s intent would laugh out loud, dismissing his thoughts as mere wishful thinking. After all, countless properties lay in ruins across the country. What made him think this particular piece of land would be an exception?

But Rajan believed it would.

Today, Ayra Farms — a farm stay situated six hours from Mumbai — is a nature lover’s dream with cottages that open their doors to lush gardens, hiking trails and more. As his daughter Noopur Chaughule, who is a culinary professional, recounts, it has been a winding path that has led the family to this moment.

“And the journey was worth it,” she says.
