Using rufus it's pretty easy to install windows 11 without meeting their bullshit requirements.

Did that for my work laptop, which is getting old but runs just fine. Including windows 11.

Plenty of reasons to switch to Linux, but this can be circumvented. And anyone who doesn't know how to, because it is too complicated shouldn't really switch to Linux anyway IMO, because they will already run into trouble with finding compatible printers, getting software for proprietary hardware they are using, etc.

I got my stuff from priwatt. They got most types of solutions. Possibly a bit more expensive than elsewhere, but they handle a lot of the paperwork as well.

Means a meter that records input as well as output and no, Germany so far does not have anything in place where regular folk get paid for what they input.

But as I said, everything I generate goes directly into my own consumption, so I don't mind much.

I got a tiny one on my balcony last year. With WFH it doesn't put anything through to the grid but already lowered our consumption by 1/10, which is pretty amazing. Plugs into a regular socket. Power provider exchanged the meter to be able to handle it for free, and everything else was also very smooth. I am very happy with it and would put up more, if I had the space.

I really like the genre, I am mostly sad it's mainly very short ones with a single season. Would love something longer again like SAO. But I also don't watch a lot to begin with

The US Gamestop is selling PC parts. They started in 2021 or 2022.

How have they no means to fix their business model by cutting back on what does not work? Like.. are they supposed to just keep burning money year after year on the same direction that is the cause of burning money in hopes of something magically changing about it?

That would be the sunk cost fallacy, no? If anything they now have a chance to direct their attention to getting new revenue streams because they stopped the bleeding. They got no debt except some remnant of a 0% loan by the French government. Not sure what will whittle away at them?

I do not like their current business model and do think they need to adapt, but for the first time since 2018 they even have the financial situation to try.

I mean, they're profitable for the first time since 2018. Not least thanks to a huge amount of cost cutting the past two or three years. This is more of that.

Have a great weeknd and thanks for the updates!

It'll be rolled back when they realize engagement drops.

Those are great news. Hope your recovery goes well and that you find some solid people to help with the maintenance in terms of moderation. kbin really is my favorite instance of this all, but needs some love.

3 Abrams is correct, 8 Bradleys sounds about right, but I didn't hear anything about HIMARS. It is odd that they're not bragging about the Ukraine confirmed loss of a Patriot system (albeit not the radar but two launchers). I mean, that's what they've been claiming forever. Maybe because they said they destroyed all of them already and can't now claim destroying any actually?

Fucking weirdos. Still, compared to Russian losses in manpower and vehicles, this is nothing. For the numbers that Ukraine has, it's not insignificant for sure. The main thing and difference between Russian losses and Ukraine losses is that the crews often survive the loss of the vehicles on the Ukrainian side, whereas Russia loses both vehicle and crew.

Something special about being awake before everyone else is. The world is so nice and quiet.

To help give some guidance on how you might be able to find smaller creators, despite the distinct lack of tools to do so baked into the youtube interface, I figured I'd give you at least a starting point.

  • When searching for a topic you're interested in, set your filters to sort by views and narrow down the date range to last week.
  • Once you've done that, scroll down a while until you start hitting videos that been up for 2 or more days but have below 100 or so views.
  • Since most interactions for content creators happen during the first few hours of any uploaded video, you'll almost assuredly find a creator with a very low subscriber count.

Mind you needn't sort by views, you can simply sort by anything and look for videos that haven't been up long and have very few views. This sorting just helps narrow it down more quickly.

Now, if these are going to be good? I don't know, but it's part of the joy of finding someone that you really enjoy.

Hope this helps some of you. Feel free to share if you find one of those gems!

With algorithms, clickbait, the power of hate and controversy, it's become increasingly difficult to find or amplify the smaller creators (below 1000 subscribers/followers) across the internet.

Know a diamond in the rough, that barely anyone knows about? Go talk about them there. Tell the fediverse why they're a worth a subscription, or even promote your own work.

This can be anyone from YouTubers, Twitch Streamers, Arts&Crafts Creators, Writers, Musicians, Artists, whatever comes to mind as long as it is SFW.

Do observe the rules in the sidebar, before posting.

Found him some years ago and even joined one of his DnD campaigns. All round solid dude who gets flustered and stressed when things don't quite go his way, but it's very entertaining to watch or even just listen to.

When playing Crusader Kings 2/3 and more complex games he's taking great care (in some of his playlists anyway) to explain what he's doing and why, to help others get their toes wet with these types of games that might seem intimidating to newcomers.

He's generally relaxed and there's a huge backlog to binge through, should you find his style and voice, etc. good to listen to.

Personally, I'd like to see him grow.

He's also setup shop out here in the fediverse:

Not sure if he's open to collaborations with anyone, but I believe he might be. If you know someone, feel free to pass along his mastodon link.

Go show him some love!

Basically title. As you can see, I see this community and can post to it fine. But some others just return a 404.

This is the link that works (for kbin.social):

And here's one that doesn't:

actual link: https://lemmy.world/c/imperor

Any input/Help would be appreciated!

A short-ish video on the very basics of combat in TTRPGs. Got a new group and some players that absolutely insist on moving their wizard out to the front, being hacked apart within seconds?

Maybe this video can help steer them into a safer code of conduct!

Disclosure: I know the guy who made this, he's a DM of mine. Show him some love.

Short-ish video on the most basic of basic concepts for mostly new players to grasp - if you got someone new to introduce to TTRPGs and want to give them a leg up in understanding how combat works tactically.

Today we will discuss positioning and combat basics in table top role playing games (ttrpgs) such as pathfinder, dungeons and dragons, tales of the valiant a...

Is there something like /r/combatfootage or /r/ukrainewarreport to keep up to date what's going on out there somewhere around here?
