After playing Lunacid I was looking for more retro horror dungeon crawlers, but I couldn't find anything that really went all in on it. But now Labyrinth of the Demon King is out and HOLY SHIT does it hit the mark.

It's described as Silent Hill x Kings Field and I feel it fits well. You have to accept the retro wrapping of it but god damn the horror is on point, the environments and sounds conjure so much atmospheric pressure, it remixes so many great elements from classical survival horrors and more modern ones (including more modern FromSoft games). I love also how it keeps both sides of the SH DNA, between moments of serene eerie fogged exteriors and the dark claustrophobic unending nightmare of the interiors. Some parts feel very Lost in Vivo if you've played it which I also loved. I don't have 300 screenshots cause I'm too caught in :D

I think the trailer that sold me on it last year still gives the most accurate vibe to the gritty dark disgusting nightmares the game crushes you with. Only shows a bit of the gameplay but it plays like a mix of of an RPG survival horror and Condemned, but it’s not a pure RPG with incredible depth it’s more tools of survival. It’s not perfect but for a game that just came out I feel it could have some staying power in the niche and the dev seems motivated to update it so far!

Anyway go play it!

Not sure why either, the original doesn't have anything weird there, probably just bad crop

this is exactly how your gut microbiome tells you what to eat in a way

I created an account there too but the issue is from the get go the website gives me bad vibes like it's only a matter of time before they pull the rug too. I'd rather wait for a federated alternative and wing it with multiple watchlists of 100 for now :/ it's all automated with arr stuff anyway so it's not too bad

I guess between them and Plex they're on a competition to see who can drive users to Jellyfin the fastest

Yeah right I'm sure the deer is supper happy to know it was shot ethically at least. That's not a cool guide that's depressing as shit leave animals alone

The real magic starts when you assemble 7 beautiful european transgenders but the world is not ready for this probably

I'm continuing on Let This Radicalize You which is full of great hands-on practical "right now" tales and advice on creating the change you want to see in the world. It's so recent yet still reads like a million years away before the second Trump term and such. But it's solid although very detailed in its recounts of mutual aid stories, sometimes a bit needlessly I thought, but I'm already radicalized in a way so I guess some people might still need these horror stories of state abuse in such realistic grim detail.

Fermented vegan cheeses have all the same tastes cause it's the same process I'd recommend to try modern ones they're really great nowadays. Depends of the country of course.

Playing a bit with water and ink/pens again, really love how the textures it creates speak to my current mood.

Not sure this 100% fits I just thought there was something about this casual photo that felt it fit. Something about the warmth of the light on the mailbox and the white of the snow and the composition. I guess yall will be the judge.

Not sure if this fits since technically the wall (and likely the fire) were man-made, but it's nature and chemistry that mutated the wall in this pattern. Will remove if not

Quite like how it came out as some kind of portraits of a family over the generations but where they all shared the same personality

Talking purely about Soulsvania not pure Souls game. I've played and loved Hollow Knight, Blashphemous and Salt and Sanctuary. What draws me to these games is the bestiary and the crazy monster designs, that's what I love most and what makes me progress through the difficulty.

At the moment I'm playing GRIME and I love how unique and dark the universe is, with a lot of body horror elements throughout. What are other cool soulsvanias with great horror elements (ie. not Ori etc)?
