Thanks!

As an user, tiled posts + domain block are the most interesting features for me. It's competing with Mbin for priority now, as Mbin has hybrid view + domain blocking.

Also was a bit drowsy when I commented before and hadn't noticed, but the two people mentioned have their instances in subdomains, so I'm guessing the tool allows it? Didn't read the tutorial fully either, so will have to take a deeper look.👀

Saving to check later. 👀

Btw, didn't follow through much so I ask, what's special about Piefed when compared to Friendica, Mbin or Lemmy? Been meaning to get practice in web hosting by setting up an instance but as I don't know how to use a same domain for multiple instances at once, I want to proceed cautiously at first.

If I got what you mean, then when formatting is pasted weird and I don't want the formatting, I try pasting into a text editor with no markdown enabled, such as Notepad++ and Sublime Text in a fresh install, then copy the pasted text if it came good.

I don't follow closely so can't be sure, but I'd imagine no modding scene fully dies, only shrinks after the interest peak passes.

And with how technology is moving to a problematic end, more people get bothered and try to revert course for what interests them. But as the reversion tries to win against the original course, the messier it becomes, what feels to people as if the original course is gaining traction and thus bothering more and more people which then try to reverse the course in their own niches. That considered, I'd imagine there's always space for a modding/jailbreak scene to keep existing.

A cautionary tale, this one: never put all your eggs in one basket

And further I'd say: whenever possible, have at least two alternatives, with at least one being fully offline

And if you try to mod you Apple phone to fix it from having remote killswitches and, to my knowledge, you're in Japan or the US, but likely in a few other places too, you're a criminal. 🙄

The first episode of the English dub of FLCL. It's so random and excessive that it feels like I'm watching a video from Max0r or Ssethzenacht. XD

I'm not its target audience (not much of movies fan), but considering I made sheets for similar uses for music and games, it makes me think:

  • couldn't it be fully offline? More reassurance of no data collection and it should keep being useful virtually forever, specially if physical media and DRM-free movies and series get traction.
  • instead of an LLM, why not a local database with a tag or like/dislike system, with the system having a bit of randomness for suggestions to have an algorithm?
  • in line with the first point, if an LLM is a must, why not have a local one trained specifically on movies and series?

Oddly enough, for me walking lessens the symptoms of the flu, leaving only a burning sensation in the nose and a slight light-headedness while I exercise.

Preference and some programs being easier to find through such drawers.

For those that stick to Windows, best I could find was Winlaunch. According to it, it simulates de MacOS app drawer, but I didn't use MacOS enough to be able to tell, and I found it when looking for Android-like app drawers instead.

Don't know the statistics, but as a native Portuguese speaker, the impression I get is that the other Romance languages are simpler. So if indeed it's the hardest of the bunch, maybe starting with Portuguese automatically makes others easier to learn. Just worth noting, there's quite a lot of overlap between the Romance languages, so patience to learn to separate them may be needed.

Run two Steam instances at the same time? 😬

Alt textscarf it's for science, so i can om nom nom like them a NORMAL AMOUNT

I never talked much to people that use a lot of expressions, and the usage of Spanish terms, like "nada" or "amigo", as I could observe from the outside, felt inconsistent. And upon thinking on that, it got me curious, is it common to use such expressions or not?

Been reading some docs and felt like drawing to get a better picture.

Some things to note:

  • Parenthesis indicate bridges
  • Fed Bridgy and Mostr appear twice because I don't know if they allow cross-communication
  • One-way arrows (→) indicate one-way communication, and two-ways arrows (⇄) indicate the two sides can talk with each other
  • Threads to/from Facebook and Instagram communication appears with an interrogation mark because the information I could find didn't feel conclusive and I don't have an account to test myself
  • Maybe I missed some bridges and protocols, but that'd be more of a lack of knowing; also intentionally ignored X/Twitter > Nitter > RSS > ActicityPub bridges because it felt too much of a stretch.

It's rare for a FPS to entertain me so much. Loved it.

Also a theory...Having played Portal 2 and Half-Life back to back, I get a feeling both G-Man, the blue gel from Portal 2, and maybe a bit of a stretch, but the floating isles of Xen, are all degrees of cosmic horrors.
Yet to play Half-Life 2 or Alyx to get a better idea, but G-Man having full control over portals seems quite strange, specially since before the ending, only the aliens of Xen appear using it willingly (although, as theirs are more limited than Aperture Science's, maybe they were studying it still, so not something they came up with).
In Portal 2, Cave Johnson mentions Aperture Science doesn't know what the blue gel is, only that it doesn't like human flesh. Besides the OSHA-posting style humor, sounds to me like a slight indication of cosmic horrors also.
And if Black Mesa indeed stole Aperture's technologies as Cave Johnson says, both would potentially be dealing with things way out of their control. And if G-Man indeed is a cosmic horror, he seems more rational than the usual depiction of such, and with his own agenda by what he says too. So since he has a discussion with a Black Mesa agent early in the game, maybe Black Mesa dealing with what would ultimately cause the invasion from Xen would be a problem to whatever he was after.
And the isles from Xen remind me of Eduardo Valdés-Hevia's flesh planet and Starbound's The Ruin, both shown as cosmic horrors.

Kept seeing people complaining about their game backlogs increasing, and would see my own suffering the same, so decided to make a community for people to tackle theirs.

Didn't mention earlier because I forgor

One of the best Immortal albums. Longer songs, crazy riffs and amazing cover art. They definitely leveled up with this release. Seemed appropriate given that my hometown finally got our first real snow this winter. If you’ve never heard it do yourself a favor HERE

I was looking for a post through the link from another instance and saw this error. The exit button ("Got it!") sounds like the search went through, given the lack of information in the error.

I would presume not, but couldn't find direct mentions.
Also, I like to play by my own or at most with friends ~~at slap's reach~~ at arm's reach, so I see no relevance for anti-cheats in my use-case. Plus, I see anti-cheat as DRM with more steps, and I care not for achievements for HL (if it even has any).
And so, I would like to know: should I be concerned about VAC if running the Steam version of HL through either/both?

Thanks in advance!
