The Boston Dynamics dog can't handle soft ground + slope.

This strikes me as something comrades should pay attention to. It is very likely to be a key weakness in the police robot dogs as well, and if the military ends up using them those too.

This is somehow unexpected while also being simultaneously unsurprising.

Evo is so nice and mild mannered. But also this seems like such an Evo thing.

Ahhh I see what you mean. I think it would be a few days or a couple weeks for people to look over the new information they have to see how things are before that really kicks off

I've heard nothing that suggests it didn't go into effect. Some comrades played it down and compared it to a thing Germany has though.

I don't know what you said but whatever it was if you vote for either of these people you ARE endorsing genocide.

Every single death that happens after this vote, you voted for. You knew what they would do and you endorsed it, you gave them a mandate for it.

Don't give a mandate to genocide.

I have noticed that any lucid dream I've ever had just sort of phases into being awake with no real conclusion to the events of the dream. Lucidity I think only occurs on the edge of wakefulness so waking up is usually the conclusion before whatever "story" that was occurring can reach anything satisfactory.

With that said I only very rarely have lucid dreams.

Not as much as you might think. It's 300km wide.

The thinnest point is 30km off a very specific bit of Yemen. But the rest is so wide it's unpolicable. The warships have at best a 20-50km reliable range that they can cover around their ships. Their "watchful eyes" are less watchful than people realise and rely much more on being big and intimidating shows of force to deter action than their actual ability to prevent action by force.

Unless you're from that one specific point where it's thinnest, and spend a lot of time on the shore, you probably don't end up thinking about this much at all. Well, except if you're from Yemen and have been bombed to bits for decades.

America has killed 2million innocent people every decade since ww2.

All 3 of those countries are better than america, and your perception that they're worse is not based in material reality judging actual things that have actually happened but instead on your feelings defined by movies and television.

You're really fucking stupid.

The british proletariat did none of that, it was the actions of the british bourgeoisie. If you do not know what the difference is then you desperately require a political education because I know 10 year olds that understand class politics more than you.

What do you even know about my political views?

Do you really think there's much difference between you and anyone else that says "leave the country if you don't like it" to others? You're all literally factory produced by the machine that has you so deeply propagandised and so poorly politically educated.

Actual AI might eventually achieve that.

LLMs fucking won't though.

Liberals are authoritarians, we all pretty much agree on that here but what's the best way to communicate this to a well meaning baby leftist?

Anything worth linking to or specific phrasings you like using? How do you go about justifying that liberals are the "real" authoritarians and not the communists?

I came across this interesting flyer from WW2 today, it includes a speech by Albert Einstein and the goal of the flyer is donations for something or other on the front in the fight against the nazis.

I found this part particularly interesting:

In the political field, it was the Russian government, of all the great powers, that labored in the most honest and unequivocal way to promote international security. She pursued this goal in her foreign policy until shortly before the outbreak of war—actually until the other powers brusquely shut her out of the European concert, in the days of the betrayal of Czechoslovakia. Then she was driven to conclude the unhappy pact with Germany; for it was notorious that an attempt was being made to turn the force of the German attack eastwards. Russia, in contrast to the western powers, had supported the legal government of Spain; she offered assistance to Czech׳ oslovakia; and was not guilty of strengthening the arms of the German and Japanese adventurers.

There's a lot to unpack here but Einstein says:

  1. The USSR made all efforts to stop the war happening.

  2. The western powers(UK, France, US, etc) shut the USSR out of European discussions and betrayed Czechoslovakia.

  3. Molotov-Ribbentrop was an unhappy last resort that they were driven to, that the western powers were attempting to drive the nazis into attacking the USSR and that's why they would not help the USSR stop them.

  4. The USSR supported everyone while the other powers (UK, France, US, etc) strengthened the nazis and Japanese.

This is all obviously stuff most people here already know and agree with, but I think it's notable that Einstein said it. You may have libs in your life that will listen to him.

Worth noting that the Chinese ambassador also called it the Malvinas throughout, not the Falklands.

Ok so community banners and icons are now working.

What I've put up at the moment are temporary. We need some good ones, especially for the icon as this is what will be seen by others once federated.

We are now taking submissions and suggestions if anyone wants to have a stab at it.

Caught him mention this here, decided to look up the project.

Seems neat. There's a few different routes that have been proposed over the years, changing with the political conditions I guess? Train gang will be fans of it.

For Bolivia I think the obvious merit is that it provides much more port access options for a landlocked country which is probably essential for maintaining their sovereignty.
