Russia has moved to classify key demographic statistics following a dramatic collapse in its birth rate, which has plunged to levels not seen since the late 18th or early 19th century, according to a leading Russian demographer.

For decades, Russia has been experiencing a plunging birth rate and population decline, which appears to have worsened amid its ongoing invasion of Ukraine—with high casualty rates and men fleeing the country to avoid being conscripted to fight.

Projections estimate that Russia's population will fall to about 132 million in the next two decades. The United Nations has predicted that in a worst-case scenario, by the start of the next century, Russia's population could almost halve to 83 million.

Like god intended.

Gross domestic product (GDP) only grew by 1.4% in the first quarter of 2025 – a notable decline from 4.5% growth in the previous quarter and 5.4% in the same period last year, the Moscow Times reported, citing Rosstat data.

The latest data from Rosstat came in below expectations: the Russian Economic Development Ministry estimated GDP growth at 1.7% and Bloomberg analysts predicted 1.8% growth.

The drone targeted a shuttle bus that was transporting civilians near the city of Bilopillia at 6:17 a.m. local time, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported on Telegram.

Sumy Oblast is a northeastern region that borders Russia's Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk oblasts.

Ukraine lost an F-16 fighter jet on Friday morning after an incident on board, though the pilot ejected safely, the Ukrainian air force said in a statement.

"According to preliminary data... an unusual situation arose on board. The pilot moved the aircraft away from the settlement and successfully ejected," it said on the Telegram messenger.

When are Americans going to figure this out?: 63.7% voted, the other 36.3% don't fucking matter. By not voting they said "we are okay with this".

49.8% (more if you include the RFK voters) of the people who mattered voted for this, and those that didn't vote are complicit whether they like it or not.

...and was apparently written by AI it is so bad.

I would, although 'install' sounds a lot more involved than they typically are. It is simply a mat with holes or a mesh.

If it is your bathroom sink clogging you should think on what is likely causing it. I can't think of anything that would regularly clog your sink. Even shaving a full beard with a straight razor would be fine so long as you collect what you can and throw it out instead of letting it drain with the water. To me it sounds like you've got something stuck in the U-trap like a toothpaste cap which is why it clogs so easily.

Yeah, I'm not clicking that :P

You should not need to use a chemical clog remover that often. I have used it once in my entire life, let alone an entire "stockpile" within a year (jfc).

If you are using it that often something needs to change. Whether it be your dumping habits, or the literal plumbing in your house. A serious review is in order.

  • Fats, oils, and copious amounts of fine silt (don't ask) do not go down a drain. Oils can be reclaimed at depos/hardware stores/gas stations whatever is the local solution for you. Fats set aside and throw in the garbage once cooled and solidified.
  • Hair can be caught via mesh covers over your drain hole, collected and discarded in the trash.
  • 'Flushable' wipes/diapers/whatever are BS. Do not waste your money and/or flush them.

The only thing you should need as a homeowner is a plunger. You can get a drain snake too but that should be overkill imo.

This so much. I walk my dogs by a gradeschool and I smell it in the air every morning. Gradeschool. They aren't even teenagers yet. At 8am. Every. Day.

Bonus points for the deluge of infused product packaging litter everywhere.

Imagine that. Someguy is watching pornhub, just jackin it, and then his webcam records him as he suddenly without warning gets punched in the face.

And we all watch.

.. in horror because it is that dude's kink.

A U.S. congressional official on May 9 announced that Washington had given the green light for Germany to transfer the weapons to Kyiv, the NYT reported. The shipment includes 125 long-range artillery rockets and 100 Patriot air defense missiles.

"Trump is not cognitively there".

So, he's the perfect representative for the American people.

Why. The Fuck. Are they allowing prison inmates to torture cats?! /s

It is along the thinking of "kill one of my family members, I take one of yours in response". You're stretching the definition of 'nothing to do with' in a world where ACAB is the current prevailing sentiment.

They can be. The word 'round' refers to a single shot fired by a weapon. Artillery pieces are weapons so a shell is a round in this case.

Tesla told Austin workers on its Model Y and Cybertruck lines to stay home for the week of Memorial Day, three workers told Business Insider.

The break is unusually long, the workers said. Production lines were up and running during the same period last year, they said.

The electric vehicle maker notified employees earlier this week. The workers, who are paid hourly, were told they could either take paid time off or come in for cleaning and training but would not be working on the production line.

Tesla deliveries dropped 13% year over year during the first quarter.

The European Union has pledged to supply over 1.35 million rounds in 2025 and plans to allocate nearly 1.9 billion euro ($2.1 billion) from Russian frozen assets in military support for Ukraine, Ukrainian officials announced on May 9.

The sanctions list includes 58 individuals and 74 companies, with 67 Russian enterprises related to military technology. The decree comes into force on May 9, the day of its publication.

In a joint statement following talks, Xi Jinping and Putin stated that the war in Ukraine could only be resolved by removing its "root causes".

Such formulation clearly echoes key Russian propaganda messages used by the Kremlin to justify the launch of the full-scale war, including the threat of NATO expansion, discrimination against Russian-speaking people and the suppression of the Russian language, culture and media in Ukraine.
