No one is talking about putting a leash on an eight year old. We're talking about letting a 14 month old get to experience the privilege of walking in a public place rather than being trapped on Mom's hip or in a stroller.

Yeah, I'm a normie, I'm tech literate adjacent-adjacent, by which I mean I'm here on lemmy rather than Facebook, but no. Me and my peers are not pressing ctrl anything. I don't even know what gui means. Something user interface? I'm not proud to be this dumb, but I'm pretty sure most "regular" people are in this boat with me. I was the third most tech literate person in my entire office last year with a bunch of millennials simply because I was willing to Google things.

I mean the fascination is with money. People are looking for ways to pay their rent.

That's all wonderful advice. I'm trying to make scrambled eggs. It's one of the baby's favorite foods. Any advice there?

I'm glad I am reading your comments. I am that kitchen novice. And so is my husband. We've been trying to move away from Teflon since we had a baby, and are struggling to make stainless steel worth the extra time it takes to clean. I've been feeling very frustrated that despite trying to do the heat it up and use oil thing, it's still awful, and I figured either we're dumb and bad or everyone online is just lying. We just went back to Teflon, because people online say it should be perfectly non stick and then also that you can only clean the stainless steel with a soft cloth. It's hell.

Pretty sure that's the point, that the family isn't allowed to withdraw consent due to the insane "abortion" laws. This is so far past abortion. America is disgusting and grotesque.

Yes, when I was lucky enough that I could survive on part time income, my four day work week was glorious. I used Mondays to just rest. I could actually enjoy my weekends AND be productive because I wasn't trying to also rest in prep for the coming week.

And The 2K is gone pretty quick purely from adding the baby to your insurance. Boo.

I spent so long on the 3DS in ocarina of time just running all over the entire map not sure how to progress, I eventually gave up. Those stupid boulders are supposed to give you tips but idk I just couldn't figure it out back then.

It's hard for me to imagine AI taking over a majority of jobs even in 10 years. My boss at my last job had me print Excel files for him so he could look at the hard copies. And he was only like 38. I think people on lemmy overestimate how tech savvy people are. I worked in the construction industry and even office side, people were barely tech literate. No way will they be able to utilize AI when so much of their business is still on hard paper.

Woah now, maybe I like googling my mom's office line every time she doesn't answer her cell phone! I actually never even thought of saving it
