I mean there’s no higher praise than that, right? Thought that one did a lot of interesting goofy stuff, I’ll revisit

I've emerged from a hibernation of death metal, whiskey, and cookies to remind you all that the year is coming to a close, which means it's time to start thinking about Album Of The Year! There's still a month of pending releases to include of course, but I've reviewed my favorite Jan-Nov albums/EPs to remind myself, and let me tell you, it's a great time.

I'm excited to see what you all highlight - both the big ones we can all agree are absolute rippers, and any newcomers that might have escaped notice.

So far planning (unless I get behind schedule like I always do) to post my own list sometime in January.

Not much certified tech this week that I could find, but these releases are great - let me know if I missed anything!

Happy Halloween, everyone! Please share anything I've missed, seems to have been a pretty big week

What a week!! idk even what to highlight: we got new An Abstract Illusion, Katakomba, and Wretched, plus some really promising releases from bands I've never heard of

Ah playing it again, I remember why it didn’t make my roundup lol. No idea what to call this: it slaps for sure, but you’re right: tech death it ain’t

Oh shit, I gotta add that!

Honorable mention, maybe straddles tech death and deathcore but it’s an absolute jam: Ben’s Raincoat - Radiant Cliffs

Certified brain melter, thanks for posting! This is old enough that I might not have bumped into it, glad for the exposure

Oh interesting! I hadn’t followed closely enough to catch the single, I’ll have to revisit. I agree though: Eschaton was my favorite album of the week

Edit: opps forgot RoN was in the same week. That takes it, although it’s not as pure tech as Eschaton

It’s growing on me too!

Enjoy! That was my favorite this week

tbh I almost slept on it because I haven't listened to them since I was first exploring the world of death metal (including black metal, grindcore, etc.), and stumbled into Demigod, but ffs the title track slapppps, very catchy

Totally. To be honest, I keep coming back to about half of these, especially Parthian

I always like Angry Metal Guy’s reviews (not sure how independent this is, if the label sends a free copy and that incurs bias or whatever, you can check and decide). I also see 2 reviews from regular folks on Encyclopaedia Metallum. I don’t typically get too into reviews, so I don’t have much more to share, but I do also see No Clean Singing has a review up.
