Not a good sign for all the incumbent automakers who are focused on rolling back EV mandates and only building high profit margin vehicles and very high cost EVs.

So … the lineups at the local coffee shop are actually about signalling wealth and not just because they’re financially ignorant and/or too lazy to make it at home?

TIL.

When her cat escapes the house, one sure way to get the cat back in the house is to bribe it with treats. Would that stop working?

People say cats are just as possible to train as a dog, but I’ve never seen one that sits and rolls over.

If her cat didn't crave treats the way she does, would we still have bonded?

Does it still need the treats? You may have trained it successfully to be friendly.

Obesity in pets should not be celebrated. It's a sad thing.

Absolutely.

People who trust these influencer-shilled vpn providers over their ISP are awfully brave or have terrible ISPs. I wonder how many people actually put together that they’re replacing one untrustworthy entity with an other untrustworthy entity.

But this makes a lot of sense. I saw a list of exit nodes recently and assumed they were doing some GeoIP fuckery instead of actual routing

I’ve got a couple variations in a drawer. I don’t use a lot of honey so I don’t use them a lot.

The UK needs to cut some bureaucrat middle management and allocate the funds to the social programs they’ve austeritied into symbolic existence.

Education makes a tremendous difference. Americans have mentally ill people probably at the same rate as EU, but also has ignorant people and that’s where the difference is made up. If you travel 3 hrs in USA, you’ll find the same culture. If you travel 3 hrs in Europe, you’ll be in a different culture altogether.

I agree with the spirit of the post - the tanks Americans have been taught to adore are a bigger safety risk than a small car and I love my Smart. However, the standard full size Euro NCAP are performed at speeds not exceeding 60kph. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to require that in order to travel on roads with a 50kph speed limit, the vehicle will not crumple like a piece of tissue and kill the occupants. There is the separate quadricycle test which demonstrates the risks of these vehicles.

The Euro NCAP also have the valuable pedestrian safety tests and extrication ratings.

It would be trivial to ddos, and likewise for the receiving mail server. Sounds like an amplification attack by design.

Low ABV beverages like wine and beer don’t take age well. Some wines can age in the bottle, but most volume is not made with that in mind. Beer has a shorter shelf life than many people realize. Spirits don’t age (well) in the bottle either.

It’s not milk, but it’s not a MRE either.

Technical people don’t understand the business, you see.
