Personally it’s a subcategory of things I try to avoid dealing with (under Workstations, following Users). Easy to forget.

Especially the printers.

Mark Twain also struggled with language

To continue with the German genders: a tree is male, its buds are female, its leaves are neuter; horses are sexless, dogs are male, cats are female—tomcats included, of course; a person's mouth, neck, bosom, elbows, fingers, nails, feet, and body are of the male sex, and his head is male or neuter according to the word selected to signify it, and NOT according to the sex of the individual who wears it—for in Germany all the women wear either male heads or sexless ones; a person's nose, lips, shoulders, breast, hands, and toes are of the female sex; and his hair, ears, eyes, chin, legs, knees, heart, and conscience haven't any sex at all. The inventor of the language probably got what he knew about a conscience from hearsay.

“It’s secure”

Like Aadhar? Ffs. There is a concept of “toxic data” ie data that is so highly sensitive it represents a problem to hold it - and extremely difficult to justify collecting or holding it. This app would generate an astronomical amount of toxic data.

I stand corrected; Apple did in fact provide adequate resistance. This is great news.

complains that email is unreliable and mail is too expensive

wants deliveroo to take over registered mail delivery

Nope. Nope, nope, nope.

If you think €10 is a lot, find out what it costs to serve someone.

The entire premise is built around the idea that the spot is reserved for charging. If the charger is broken, the simple answer is that nobody can park there, not that laws cease to apply and the spot can be ICEd.

The sidewalk is for walking and doesn’t have anyone walking on it, so I parked there.

We haven’t solved the problem of phishing, which makes this a very dangerous scenario.

Email delivery has never been designed to be reliable. It is utterly absurd to suggest email should be a substitute for registered mail, but unfortunately laws aren’t written by technologically competent individuals. Your situation, of course, is one you have created entirely by your choice and typically email delivery is very reliable - but the technological underpinnings absolutely are not.

€10 for a registered mail is not extortionate. It is a reasonable price for the service, which also serves the necessary low barrier that prevents abuse.

Next year bro, I promise. Just one more winter, bro.

Just checking, Germans still are building coal plants instead of nukes, right?

The Obama admin enabled a lot of the stuff that is happening today either through keeping programs running or actively establishing or growing the program, which is behaviour that is reprehensible but expected from lawmakers who answer to industry and love power.

And nothing of value was lost.

It is slightly ambiguous because if it is labelled as “for EV charging” and you have an EV parked there and it is not charging, you are supposed to vacate the spot. So - if the charger is broken, the spot should be vacant. I can’t see parking enforcement being able to really handle that though unless there’s a connection between charger and enforcement.

But in that case, an ICE vehicle should still never park there.

It’s akin to delivery-only parking on a bank holiday. You still can’t park there even though the shop is closed.
