Fair enough - this is actually part of why I asked this question, tbh. Most of what I find about this phenomenon when searching has this paranormal stuff circling around it, and while I can see how someone would make that leap if totally bewildered, I just can't take those as serious explanations (though I'm willing to listen, I just wouldn't accept that as the probable root cause).
98% sure all actual cases can be (crudely) explained by "your brain did weird shit/you did or took stuff that made your brain do weird shit". It's just such an odd experience, I wanted to hear other people talking about theirs if they had one too.
Edit: Actually, I have an analogy (had an example but lost the link). There's a streetview image near some intersection in Palm Springs, California that shows a weird sphere of bright, colorful lights, instead of the actual street. Someone could, conceivably, jump to 'OMG, this could totally be some rip in space-time, or a portal to another dimension or something!' Meanwhile, the more likely and rational explanation is something glitched out with the camera or software used to create the image, and you (I) don't know enough about the tech involved to say exactly what. But it's so weird looking, it's easy for someone's imagination to take them to a very interesting, but totally unfounded, explanation.
These are some fine atmospheric tracks, and I agree the films are beautiful. Thank you for posting this!
