No thanks, I used to use boost for reddit and I loved it.

But now on lemmy, there are FOSS apps that are just as good I'd rather donate to.

VLC almost did it for me until I found XBMC (now named Kodi). Which wasn't as stable as VLC but had better features and was multiplatform too so from there I decided to give Linux a try after windows borked my pc since i only wanted xbmc hooked up to a tv.

Because they can say they will, possibly sell slightly more than they predicted. And then in 2 years say that they cannot support it anymore anyway.

I will always recommend buying or building a small home theater PC (htpc). Then you get a wireless keyboard with a connected track pad and you are set.

If you are more tech savvy, you can save money and recycle by simply installing Linux on an old laptop/pc that you are not using and plugging it into your monitor.

Armored Core 6 and Minecraft.

Both on Linux, Armored Core 6 works flawlessly with proton. But Minecraft needed some more work.

I just finished modding Minecraft java edition on Linux with fabric to use my Nvidia card appropriately and it is running the smoothest it ever has at 60 fps, 128 bit resource packs and very high settings on my shader. Fabric is so much better than optifine in terms of performance, just wish it was a bit easier to install.

Layoffs at a company like Amazon -- which has a relatively low cash salary ceiling -- is more of a way to steal employee pay, in the way of keeping unvested stocks that were part of a compensation package.

I never liked stocks as part of compensation packages purely from the point you don't even know if you will actually vest and receive that stock because who knows what will happn in 3-5 years. Let alone what the stock price will be by then.

My understanding is that polypropylene is the most stable plastic (with hdpe coming in at a close second) unless subjected to uv radiation. Of course, it depends on the co-polymer which is almost impossible to find on a product.

Hdpe is not supposed to have an issue with UV radiation however.

I wonder if the radiation that is emitted from a microwave has similar effects as UV radiation.
