Also Sauron would claim that having Gandalf in this chat did not pose any risks or breaches in operational security. They would further suggest that since Gandalf is a "so called" wizard (with ties to hobbits) the chat itself is some kind of hoax and that Sauron should be trusted over Gandalf.
Its a private platform. They can do what ever they want.
Politicians and other public services should stop using it while they still can.

These are things that I absolutely do on Lemmy today, are we sure these features are lacking? I guess it could be something that my Lemmy client is doing and not a feature built into Lemmy.
Non violent resistance is simply about reducing the death and bloodshed of the resisters. It is not acceptance or compliance.
It's going to depend on the situation what type of resistance is required. However, unless the resistance has on its side a trained military that can overpower or outwit the regime's abundant military force. How will it effectively end that regime through violence? If guerrilla warfare is used then narratives can be used to gain support for the regime, both domestically and internationally.
Non violent resistance gives us another path to democracy. Also, it avoids the power struggle that sometimes occurs when a regime is defeated by violent means.
Non violent resistance is not the same as apathy or acceptance. It is also a proven method for change and removing violent regimes. Not because the people in power have a change of heart but because the people that enforce their power do.

Yeah, like I replaced my only drive on my Linux install (arch btw) and slapped it in an external enclosure. Then I plugged that in and and booted it on a different pc. You just need access to the bios or boot menu which some public pca might lock you out of.
You could install an SSD into an external enclosure and use that as a bootable USB drive.
