Being attractive improves literally every aspect of your life. I forget the study but I read once that kindergarten teachers consistently gave better grades to the more attractive students for example.

However if someone is an asshole they will still be mean.

Lemmy is not perfect and has some issues it's working on. However, the absurdity of this posts gives me an idea to basically write a satirical reddit post that explains all the wonderful aspects of Lemmy as if it's somehow an issue. And maybe it would get through to some but not get deleted from reddit since its technically pro-reddit.

Lemmy can't compete with reddit since reddit has ads and can easily censure words it decided it's ad partners don't like. Because of lemmy's decentralized nature, it could never do that.

Lemmy is a disgusting place full of people interested I'm growing new communities. It's a stark contrast to reddit who would ban someone for daring to say the word Luigi.

Lemmy is simply unusable since if you get banned from an instance you could just use another. Reddit is so much better because if you are banned then you have no recourse.

What would you propose replace passwords to not be susceptible to those things?

I personally like how secure and non intrusive passwords are, especially when using a self hosted password manager synced with git.

Gotta get off both Microsoft and Apple products too.

How long till the people still using X, Meta, and Reddit products will start to be featured on !leopardsatemyface@lemm.ee and other related communities?

Its also the time of year to start thinking about buying chicks. Its a commitment and I recommend doing your research but if you can properly care for egg laying hens then I highly recommend you consider building the required infrastructure and having hens. There is an initial investment, but now it costs me about $3 to produce a dozen pasture raised eggs.

Notes: Some terms listed with a plus sign represent combinations of words that, when used together, acknowledge transgender people, which is not in keeping with the current federal government’s position that there are only two, immutable sexes. Any term collected above was included on at least one agency’s list, which does not necessarily imply that other agencies are also discouraged from using it.

It just worked for me. Im in the US using a vpn server also in the US, with encrypted dns and firefox with noscript. It could be that you are outside the US. Or a few other things.

[–] CubitOom 1 points 6 months ago

An encrypted DNS with a no logging policy is also worth considering.

I recommend Mullvad DNS and Control D Free DNS as seen in Privacy guides

If they want to hurt you, they will hurt you. At the very minimum they could invade your privacy by doing things like tracing all your internet usage through your isp in the hopes of finding something. This would not only be impossible for you to notice but pretty hard for you to stop. They could also just do like what the Truman administration did during the 2nd red scare and physically track you and interfere with your life in many ways. Like the US government did this before without any consequence so what would stop them from doing it again?

To quote a book I just finished

Hoover’s counterintelligence program gave official sanction to “disrupt, disorganize and neutralize” chosen targets. The first was the CPUSA, practically moribund by this date with fewer than five thousand members, some fifteen hundred of whom were FBI informants. The many tactics used included planted news stories alleging criminal conduct; anonymous letters and phone calls disseminating derogatory information, real or manufactured; hang-up calls, lockstep surveillance, and intrusive photography; on-the-job-site interviews; the questioning of teachers (if the target had children) and the questioning of the parents of the children’s friends; IRS audits; and planted evidence which would result in arrests. As new perceived threats emerged—the civil rights movement, the New Left, and black nationalism—COINTELPRO grew more violent, with talk of poisoning children, the sanctioning and encouragement of assassinations, and even murder.

Red Scare: Memories of the American Inquisition by Griffin Fariello

On top of what's listed here, the FBI also did "bag jobs" which was really just breaking and entering, trashing the house and trying to find anything of value or incriminating and just stealing it. So to modernize that a bit, an agent could just break your window and steal your computer anytime you're not home without you even knowing it was the FBI that did it.

Another thing they did was denied passports (and freedom of travel) to anyone that the was labeled as a subversive or who they claimed disagreed with the American government, and that's something which is happening right now if you are trans.

I really hope that Canadians start selling their red state assets en mass. I used to live in Florida and about 30% of the snowbird's cars had Canadian plates. I got out of Florida, and Canadians should too. That place just doesn't deserve us.
