Honestly I hope the case gets thrown out. Parody laws are good and we don't need the precendent that companies can get an obviously-unserious knockoff removed if they want.

what's interesting is that one comes across all variety of stories of European higher education faculty membets resisting Nazis, Fascists, and that ilk back in the early 20th century

I wonder if times have changed, if American intellectuals are uniquely cowardly, or if it's all so anecdotal that no serious conclusions could possibly be made

What happened with the 2019 Hong Kong protests? What happened with the 2011 Occupy Wall Street protests?

The protocol for handling protesting is pretty much locked down: ignore it and it will fizzle out. Outrage fatigue is real and people have jobs.

For how long must light be emitted for a human eye to perceive it?

  • Would a person notice a flash of light that lasted 10 ms?
  • Does the intensity of the light matter?
  • How much light is a photon, anyway? Does is take thousands or trillions of photons interacting with the eye to register as light?

1am where I live and I'm wondering

Hopefully this will cause the software and game development industry to optimize their programs as intensly as they did 30 years ago. I assume that upper management types have largely forgotten the value of having a quality product, and that subsequently the time allowed for QA and optimization has shrunk in order to ship the product quicker. The ease of patching has made it worse. Hoping to see some more competent coding in the future.
