You're like really mad about this while being completely obtuse. Relax.

The Mujahedeen weren't as organized or as unionized, they were scrambled together to fight the Russians. When that was over another imperial force was pushing onto them, now organized they sort of merged with radicalized groups to form what is the Taliban. I had to Google his name but Jalauddin Haqqani is an exact example of what I mean, cut his teeth fighting Russians and moved to fighting US/NATO.

The ideology they share is main entire reason they were fighting in the first place that you're completely overlooking. The entire reason any of this happened. To fight imperial powers, to remove them from their country. Which is the same thing the sons of liberty wanted hence the comparison.

They're not vaguely nonsecular afghan paramilitaries. They're people motivated to fight western influence and were lining up under dozens of labels to do so.

How is this hard to understand?

Comparisons aren't exact matches but the relationship still stands. Individuals are tied to both, ideology they both share exists.

You're trying to paint them as two totally different things and they're not. You're comparing apples and pears

I'd still say it's related

The sons of liberty didn't set up America but they certainly played a huge role.

And likely some people were involved with both.

There is a teacher I had in school who got busted for grooming multiple boys specifically interested in their masturbating habits.

Anyway, he lost his job and last I saw he was ranting about wokeness and the Clinton pedostuff in 2016 with pizza gate and shit. Full on hating pedophiles while being one himself.

Wonder where he's at now?

No I think it's weird. I'm not trying to be nice I'm trying to say this sentiment on the Internet has crossed a line

I(mid 30s dude) am seeing this lady(mid 30s lady), we have different political opinions and talk pretty openly about it. It's interesting, she voted for Trump, was homeschooled/raised christian, very nationalistic and buys his crypto alongside some other crypto, I bought the Communist manifesto while hanging out with her and express all of my opinions boldly. No issues so far, literally.

However over the last few months I've realized a theme in her beliefs, they're all fringe and fake. She wants to go to a chiropractor, she loves the military and believes Trump is a good guy. She dislikes vaccines and believes in psuedo quack medicine yet smokes and vapes. She's an absolute fool and I know it stems from her homeschooling.

Now I have a pretty strong grasp of history and when we discuss the stuff she doesn't understand I find just talking about the history makes her think at least slightly different. But obviously that isn't gonna work long term.

Now I care about this person, I'm not head over heels in love or anything but I don't want her to be this stupid. I dunno how to flat out tell her, "hey your education was poor and it shows," how do you tell someone they're very ignorant in a way that they can put it together themselves. Honestly truly, how?
