Pop-OS comes with Nvidia drivers pre-installed if you have their cards which is good because I fucking despise manually installing them. But I also hate how their app store functions. They’re working on revamping this, and it’s looking good, so I recommend this once they release a stable update of their new interface. This is what I use and it’s been fine outside of the app store.
Linux Mint is the most user friendly imo if we are talking casual Windows user who only browsed the web and plays games. Pop might require some CLI usage, but I don’t think you ever need to touch it with Linux Mint.
Been meaning to get a copy of This Monstrous War by acclaimed journalist Wilfred Burchett who covered just about every major conflict of the 20th century. This book is about the west’s and South Korea’s genocidal war against North Korea. Supposedly, a few hundred books were imported to the US, but when the government found out they seized the shipment and destroyed it by dumping it in the ocean
Also, a few months ago a user mentioned a south korean-produced and korean-language documentary about the genocide in the north, but it was an exclusive for film festivals it seemed. Does anyone remember this documentary’s name? I believe it was recently made within the past few years.
Coincidentally, Exuma is the name of a musician and their self titled album whose popular song Dambala is about calling for God to come down and kill slavers https://youtu.be/nWTaSNQULHE
Iran should throw some money to our org
I cannot do the same mistakes that Pete Buttigieg's father did and accidentally make him a liberal.
A lot of those marxists were academics who likely spent more time writing papers and mingling with high society and being out of touch with both their families and the working class. As long as you stay grounded to people both in and out of your family, explain the discrepancies between approved capitalist framing, conditions, and history vs. reality, and encourage him to socialize with all facets of life, they will probably not end up like Mayo Pete
I once read a post about a community chili cook off and how the HOA hired some goon in tacticool gear and AR15 to mean mug everyone who passes by him
Waffle House index - severity of storms
Big Mac Index - PPP differences
Stripper Index - possibilities of recession
Thinking back on how Twitter limited Japan’s disaster warning account during a live disaster
Should’ve experienced a lot worse tbh
They had 7 years to execute him and waited for Biden’s reelection to do everything at once lol
Back in high school I wanted to join the Navy because it seemed easy as hell (tons of waivers and also scored high on ASVAB so the recruiter said I could get a cushy job as an officer and be off shift earlier lol), and also because I was incredibly lonely. I figured joining the military would give me a structured, mindless life and I can share that life with other people.
Luckily I quickly became jaded with the US because COVID happened and realized no one in power gives a shit about anyone. But I was very close. I was researching positions, training, pay, etc. Financially speaking, I would’ve been okay, and I don’t believe I would’ve turned into a killing machine because I’ve seen footage of boot camp and these drill sergeants contractually cannot due anything but yell at you, but still.
My problems haven’t been resolved at all though. Especially since I’m in computer science, and there are maybe 1 good person who wishes to help others out of 100 I meet who want work for Lockheed, Tesla, NSA, etc. It’s incredibly lonely, though I hope to join a more human sector like healthcare or early education where I can see the impact of my work and know my colleagues are decent people.
