I find stories where the main character(s) persevered through great struggles, and got rewarded for it at the end, have the most satisfying emotional payoff.

You have watched so many anime that I find it hard to recommend something newπŸ˜…

The best that I can recommend - that you haven't complete - is Umamusume season 2. IMO it's possible to follow the plot even if you skip season 1.

SAO

(I know)

Just own it bro.

At this point, SAO is overhated. Yes, some parts of the story are mediocre, but you see mediocrity in many other shows and yet they don't receive the same level of vitriol.

And its peaks are strong enough to contend with other top-tier anime.

To reiterate, I won't completely rule out resumption of Code Geass. But I'll take your suggestion of prioritising other shows.

Is this ending that of season 1, or of the whole story?

That's a crazy hairdo.

This kind of situation is why I like polyamorous endings. Are they realistic? No. But they are an easy way to avoid all these bad endings.

If I am the author, I would subvert expectations by having Heeko win this next round. Maybe with a fourth wall break referencing the readers' expectations.

The way things played out, you don't need to be Mirai to see that Heeko is going to lose, leading up to a showdown between Mirai and the final boss. Otherwise, it doesn't fit the tournament parody.

Given the rest of the comments in this thread, here's a controversial opinion: Imma reserve my judgement instead of judging a book by its cover.

I find it hard to tell if a movie - especially its plot - is good or bad based on just 3 images.

Not sure if anyone else faces the same issue.

No problem on the base ani.social or Voyager app btw.
