The benefit of Nebula is that they are first and foremost a paid service. So there is less motivation to monetize customers in unethical ways.

Yes, fireworks are fun.

Yes, it's called narcissism

Mod of a subreddit I was following created an instance, its was the easiest choice

The biggest flaw of Lemmy/Kbin for now have been lack of instance agnostic links. I understand federation and how it technically works, but please give me something user friendly .

There are experiments with feeding LLMs output of other LLMs and the results are awful. Seems for now they can only generate sensible text if fed human output.

Organic Maps have a much better rendering algorithm - meaning really fast, there is no lag when you scroll the map. OSMAnd has a really huge feature set. Almost anything you image from a map app. But it's soooo slow. I switched to Organic because I couldn't take the slowness.

Kinda agree. I don't have a preference either way. Kbin does need a better logo, but not necessarily an animal mascot.

Tax vehicles according to their weight, or max axle load to be more accurate. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth_power_law

It will sort itself out.

Contrary opinion - it's OK to give up hobbies you don't enjoy any more.

Gaming was an important part of your life at one point. You remember it fondly because currently you are lacking something in your life, so you're thinking - I used to enjoy gaming so I should enjoy it again.

Doesn't work like that - people go through phases. Find what you enjoy now. Yes, maybe it's gaming again. Maybe its something else - hiking, fixing motorcycles, partying ... who knows. Experiment with activities until you find something that will make you burn again!

Needs more Jacobs
