No no no, you have to think about it differently. Neither of those industries will want to sponsor something like this. Instead we have to go with their natural enemies - and was is the opposite of plastic (i.e. what is non-plastic)? Obviously concrete!

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 6 points 7 hours ago

That's much worse - fewer excuses!

There's a good chance! Really depends on the impact of temperature, though since we're still waaaaay below the melting point of plastic, intuitively I'd agree with you.

Yeah, Elden Ring is definitely easier, I was just talking about parry timing since GP talked about parrying being hard in Demon Souls.

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

That might be it. I felt like I was able to parry much more frequently in Sekiro, but probably just because the attacks are much easier to read.

Parrying in Elden Ring feels much harder than both Sekiro & Lies of P to me.

Do you know that water with microplastics doesn't cause even more microplastics? Seems reasonable to me - the existing microplastic should be ground even finer, and also cause more microplastic to be ground off.

Yes, those children learn a valuable lesson for life!

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 6 points 10 hours ago

Nah, I'm way too tall for that - grew out of it.

But on a serious note, learning that clear communication is necessary is an important lesson, and it's way better to learn that from something recreational than something important.

The difference is doing it for yourself vs. doing it for the entertainment of others. Everyone is free to take performance enhancing drugs for themselves, they shouldn't be free to take them for a literal festival.

I haven't played Demon Souls, but the timing feels more forgiving than it does in Elden Ring. Interestingly, Sekiro feels even more forgiving.

What would you classify this: fork, spoon or spork?

But alas, he's destined to never receive it.

Invincible has a whole host of awesome and unique characters. Who's your favorite, and why?

Now that season 2 is over and we've all had some time to let things settle & reflect, what are your predictions for season 3? Do you have any particular ideas about things that will/won't happen? Any wishes or other thoughts?

Hey all! @LambdaRX@sh.itjust.works and I wanted to give a quick update on the rules, since we received a couple of questions.

We've tried to clarify rule 3 a bit, now it reads:

3. Don’t spoil people in a way they can’t circumvent - that means no mentions in post titles/comments outside spoiler threads for:

  • comics spoilers about something that hasn’t happened in the show
  • TV show spoilers if it’s been less than a week since the episode aired

As you can see we've shortened the time a bit to allow better discussion after new episodes, and we've clarified how spoilers should be hidden.

What do you guys think? Does this work for everyone, or is something unclear?

A short aside, since this is the first real "moderator" type communication we're putting out - WOW, hard to believe how the community has grown! Already more than 150 subscribers, and almost 500 people visiting last month. Thank you all for being a part of this, and for making the moderation such an easy job. You guys are amazing, we can't thank you enough!

Hey! I'm looking for an alternative to Sync, and Summit looks great.

Unfortunately it defaults to German, and (as is usually the case) the translation isn't great, e.g. the font names are translated (and the translations aren't correct). So I'd like to use English.

But I can't find the setting. I searched for "lang" as well as the German word in the settings, but it seems there's no language selection.

Is there really no way to change your selected language, except for changing your phone language? That would be a bummer.

Season 2 Episode 6: Attila

Aired: February 21, 2025

Synopsis: Bonds are tested. Mark continues on his path of discovery.

Directed by: Uta Briesewitz

Written by: Erin Wagoner

Since I've seen the episode, I've been thinking about the story he told, and I don't think it's "canonical" like the handbook. I'm almost certain that it's either:

  • a Lumon "fairy tale", either only for use in team building exercises like the ORTBO, or possibly also told outside (did Helena know it?)
  • or a story made by Milchick specifically for our group, possibly AI generated (since "Dieter Eagan" is an anagram for "AI generated")

It felt very much like a scavenger hunt for a child's birthday or something similar, only in corporate form. Milchick thought that he could fulfill the groups desire for "adventure", and thus make them focus on work once more.

What do you think?

Let's face it: the app has been abandoned for longer than is acceptable, especially at this price level. It's no longer working correctly on newer Lemmy versions, and there's no indication the dev is still active.

Yes, he worked similarly during Reddit times, but a) Sync was much cheaper back then, and b) Reddit didn't change as much.

Right now, to unsuspecting users Sync seems great given the 4.9 star rating on the Play Store. They'll possibly buy this app before noticing that it's subtly broken.

Please consider giving Sync a bad rating, but if you do so, explain why. Write about the broken functionality, so others don't fall into the same trap.

Hey! Wanted to share this to fan up some discussions about Nightreign.

After the initial announcement, I saw a lot of pessimistic posts about Nightreign being a cash grab. I'm really happy with what I've seen so far from the network test, what about you?
