Multi-use glass is were it's at. Producing glass is an energy intense process, the more you use it the bettet it gets. Single use glass packaging is a crime. (Same goes for plastics multi-use>single-use)

I am all for wealth redistribution, but if you redistribute wealth the result would probably be even more CO2 emissions. (At least then, fewer people had to suffer)

I haven't found additional information but 40 MWh is just huge. A typical electric car has 60-100 kWh of batteries. This fully loaded ship would cover more than 20 years of electricity consumption of the average sigle person household in my country.
